Sounds like pitbull hysteria...aka dog racism
Some old lady punted my rottweiler once when he was 2 months old.
He went up to her with his stub wagging.
I almost punted her stupid looking 50yr old adult man child.
His face turned pale when he saw me jump out of the boat.
Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry!
I had some choice words with her.
If you're in FL..watch out, stupid people will shoot him.

I'd go borderline John Wick on someone if they kicked my fluff ball. Guy should consider himself lucky for having the instinct to run, and I guess you're better off for not potentially going to jail.

I hear ya. Pretty much. It's a bit ironic, American Bullies are pitbulls crossed with a variety of bulldog breeds bred specifically to be companion dogs and with the purpose of breeding the terrier traits out that make them a bit nuts. He's pretty much the sweetest laziest bastard, like an old hound dog. Then again, most pitbulls i meet are some of the sweetest dogs ever.

Again, it comes down to the owner. You can make any breed of dog vicious if you really want to.

last time someone would ever kick my dog, old man river would catch one on his jaw in front of his wife with the proposition to defend himself or i tell my animal to get him, his choice. My puppy is so calavant and happy he wouldn't hurt anything unless he was in duress, if someone kicked my bruiser I would have a hard time holding him back when I want to hit the dick myself. Better happened to you then me, I am not as kind as you friend, I envy this.

Def a bigger man than me.......

Im usually very calm , hard to get a rise out of or anger.

Except when someone harms a Child, Elderly person, Animal, or someone defenseless

I wouldnt have said a damn thing i would have just leveled him, let him feel the fear and pain the dog did

Although I agree that the guy was a jerk, legally you were probably breaking the law by not having your dog on a leash under your control. That does not justify what he did though, he was a Jerk if your dog was not a threat. I do know some people like that would kick a dog though, I do not approve of their ways and I would bet they leave their dog loose sometimes too.

Nope...not where i was..I had every right to have my dog off leash there. Plenty of signs around informing people they were entering an offleash area.

Had my dog off leash down there countless times around plenty of other people and other dogs. No issues until today.

Good on you for not fighting but I will say, keep your dog on a leash.

I used to be the dog walker with my ex. Deva, the dog, was so lovely and smart so her and I quickly picked up a routine. There was this large area outside our condo where I could let her run and do her bathroom duties. This is Sedona, so there's no light pollution, unlike where I grew up in Vegas, so this area is dark as hell. The condo lights don't reach that far.

Started to let her loose in the area and heard a growl. Guttural and scary as hell. I yanked Deva out of there right quick as I've heard the coyotes there hunting and killing prey. It's not something you really want to hear, it's vicious. Scared the hell out of me. I was almost expecting to see a pair or red eyes like some devil creature.

I get wanting to let your pet run free, but you have to be really careful about that, as you have seen. And that was just some stupid human, think if it was some kind of predator.

ETA: Saw your post, no leash area. Ok, so disregard my post.

You have unbelievable mental strength!
I have a mini sausage dog and would die protecting it.
I probably would have scared the 5hit out of the old biddy a bit more tbh, I'm quite scary when I lose it, then I would have felt really #ty about it later.

Kudos, I will take a leaf out of your book thanks 👍🏼

Yessir offleash area. He's heel trained and no problem on a leash, behaves quite well on a leash around people, was not behaving aggressively at all in this situation.

If he was growling barking being menacing, sure my fault, running up tail wagging and happy, naw he did nothing wrong and behaved exactly how i trained him to behave around strangers and other dogs.

Just saying, but I'd keep my dog on a leash until I was damned certain no human, dog or otherwise would intervene. Hard to know when though. Life ain't that simple, unfortunately.

And this person isnt choking on their blood why? Someone kicks my dog, they're drinking their food out of a straw in a hospital bed for a month.

I would normally think he was afraid of dogs, because I have personally had bad experiences with dogs since I was a little kid, but if he actually owns a dog that seems highly unlikely. He may have just been trying to protect his dog from a improperly perceived threat.

To the OP. Very sad demonstration of poor behaviour towards animals. Some people are just cruel and thoughtless. Perhaps confronting him as you did will may make him think before he acts next time.

I recall a slight reversal, where a friend was out riding her horse down a bridleway and meets a man with a dog off the lead. The dog is barking at the horse and generally out of control. She says "... you need to take your dog away or you will frighten my horse. My horse may kick your dog". He says "Bugger off and blah, blah, blah". The horse kicked the dog. She reassures me the dog was OK, but just goes to show.

I used to run the roads around my house out in the county. I have had to kick a few dogs in my day. Don’t like it. But being nice got me bit twice by dogs. Even though it was playful, a boxer jumped up and bit my hand hard enough to draw blood. I know runners that even carried mace.

And I have no phobia with dogs. I don’t freak out when I see a dog. But am very mindful they are a wild animal at heart.

Anyways. One owner saw me kick at their dog, and acted very concerned. I replied if you care about your dog so much, why isn’t your yard fenced up so your dog cannot blindly run into traffic to chase people. Many a dog has been hit by cars in my areas.

Anyway. Would you rather people do what they need to do keep from being bit. Or have the police called out for a dog bite.
Shrugs.

You might as well kick my little kid in the face because you would get the same reaction from me. Congrats on not going to jail I guess, but I doubt I would’ve been so lucky.
