"Oregon's biggest industry is actually tourism. It comes from having a low population, and several natural tourist attractions around"
But you do remember the timber industry though, right?
The one that was the largest in the country from 1910 through the early 80s?
The one that used to produce over 2 billion board feet per year?
And now only produces 45 million?
So many jobs lost.
Thanks to dems wanting to 'save' the spotted owl.
Might have been cheaper to just buy the owls a forest of their own.
Or give them the entire state of Rhode Island.
Instead of destroying what had been Oregon's largest economic driver for past 70 years.
And so many family supporting jobs.
But dems gotta dem.
So now Oregon's largest economic activity is minimum wage tourism.
I wonder how that tourism turns out now that leftists have scared so many away from Oregon.
Thank you leftists
