Using religion or Church – (our *---* must stick together – you will not get your share if any)
The ANC – (working standards and delivery not an issue, the bribe are)

Any Lawyer – (no need for an explanation)

Flashy – (wearing to impress like gold armbands and making sure you see it – you will get nothing at all)

Men wearing white shoes – (for some unknown reason I cannot explain – you will get nothing at all ... not talking about the day at the golf club)

That one person in the family – (always a sad story after completion – will pay in payments which then develop into years if ever)

Price Fighters – (It’s easy; for a standard job give a standard price, for a bad/difficult job load the price proportionally) – do not argue, don’t look back

Any kleptomaniac – (you will most probably get your fair share because they normally play fair not to be recognized – however on your next job you will find 80%+ of your tools disappeared) It’s like the Hi-Tech companies that use the data you pay for to enchant their growth with their cookies gathering information, but you get your 60G data every month

When it is too good to be true – (there will be a catch – miracles happen seldom and not everyone inherit their family business)

A democrat in America – (just a joke I had to make because “bliksem” your election is ugly)

What did I miss?

Sounds like this could be made into a Randy Newman song.

Some of the most honest old men I know wear white sneakers.
Apparently they're comfortable- and at the end of the day if you're not comfortable you're not doing yourself any favors.

Of course, not one of these honest old men in white shoes was an American Democrat... for obvious reasons.

Well churches always pay.... never had an issue with a church paying.
Internal relations might be different but I mean external.

As for lawyers... everyone hates them,,, until they need one.

In my experience the overtly religious tend to use their religion to try to get a better deal and the entire process can be exhausting. If I had a nickel for every time I heard, "We are a Christian organization" or "We are a Christian family could you give us a discount" I would have at least a few dollars. And they rarely take a simple no for an answer. They instead come back with some sob story you are supposed to listen to and I just can't do it.

Add to that the Christian businesses who think you should pay them more because they have "we are a Christian business" on their door front. No thank you.

*And I'm sure there are other religions who do this but in America this is a Christian phenomenon you run into most.

As a business, I usually don't do business with price hagglers.... I try to give a fair and competitive price the first time. I've found over the years that people who always want to haggle wind up being more trouble than they are worth and in many cases wind up costing me more money.

It is hard to walk away from business, but it definitely is a skill that most successful and profitable businesses learn. Get rid of your low margin customers.

As a customer, I look for businesses that are upfront and truthful. I will pay a little more for good service and to keep things local.

I'm sure these people are broken-hearted that you won't "do business" with them.

Huh, that's weird. Never thought my religion was possible grounds to haggle. I can't imagine why people would think it would be.

I think the only way I would intentionally was if I geared my entire business around it.

I think it's part and parcel of the tribe mentality that is taking over so much of the culture in the US.

I've lived and worked in countries where haggling is cultural and considers rude if you don't haggle, so if OP lives in one of these cultures then I don't see how he does any business. But in the US it seems to be taking hold more and more and not in situations where haggling might be expected.

Is that due to an increase within the population of peeps originating from those far and distant shores do you suppose?

What do you mean? Christians scared of foreign born non Christians so they want a deal because they are Christian?

Like I said this is coming from US born Christians.

Or do you mean they think the non Christians are all giving each other great deals so they want some too?
