Yes and no.
Totally depends on your definition.
If we say t.a.f.k.a.G. is the sum of all consciousness and religion the historical attempt to decipher it, you have to admit you can't just shrugg it off as
fancy fantasies

No. I don't have to admit that.

Garbage in, garbage out.

But you are participating in it, like it or not, you are an entity with consciousness.
The garbage parts are admittedly massive, like whenever it goes into details, but nevertheless
the agency of consciousness in the world is undeniable.

you are an entity with consciousness.

Yes. Yes I am. As are you.

You chose to speculate beyond that and assume a conscious whole.
I do not.

Well it's a lot of fun. I like riddles.

And after your edit: yes also mea culpa. To me everything that moves and acts has consciousness. Prove me wrong.

And with the whole part it's just a matter of perspective, matter adds up, planets add up to galaxies, people to nations, atoms to gas'n stuff...
So why not?

I didn't contradict that.

I suppose you can define consciousness any way you wish though. If that's what it takes.

Exactly. We don't know.
And that's a bit awkward since it seems a lot more relevant than ... basically everything else from the forces to how far away is Proxima Centauri, or are there strings beyond quarks...

Thank you very much Kev

Fascinating an intriguing story...

I talked to Astro in private DM's around the time of his 'run' on ATS.

Rather than just 'throw baby out with bathwater', I will say that one of his fever dreams may actually have a bit of truth to it. His (I forget the exact terms of his 'fever') ships that harvest dreams --- that was actually 'correct' IMHO, in a loose sense,
but not the way he promoted it, not even close.

I researched the Astro memes for a while.. I followed one through the dark web back to a Russian UFO messiah figure.
I followed part of it back to armageddon.co.uk.

I saw various threads of his story which had pre-existed in various extremely similar forms in other 'dark places'
that were being used an psychological control mechanisms.

Now the 'Astro told me about a UFO ahead of time and then I saw it' schtick was MASTERFULLY done, and it infected a friend of mine. It infected various people.

I don't wish to elaborate on that; it might get me in trouble.

But in short... a mixture of some scared kid living in this mother's basement (sort of thing) plus one dash of actual
'psychic ability' so to speak, threads of an operation heading deep into the dark web, and yes, the USG too!

A complete crap-fest of things to ignore.

That's my experience with the matter.

Kev

Yes, it does make sense in my opinion. There may be no shore at distance, nor even distance; shores and distances can be "created" from water.

I'm fine with watery foundations. Generating any reason to swim.

In it's way, that's what this post has been, or could be anyway.

And you mentioned 'tools'.

'Tools' are the dangerous part.

But this post is a 'tool';

it's using rational knowledge to prove the limits of rational knowledge,

thus helping one 'let go'.

It's really all 'enquiry'. as it's called.

Or to be fancy,

'neti neti' practice.

It's worth discussing.

Yup.

Over abstracting 'consciousness' to be 'universal' is a common logical problem.

Now, IF the 'universe' is a form of quantum computer, and IF that quantum computer is some form of 'aware', then it MIGHT be reasonable to say 'consciousness' is universal-ish.

These words are not pseudoscience, top physicists, really stable and lettered ones talk this way.

(one of many references:

Programming the Universe: A Quantum Computer Scientist Takes on the Cosmos Kindle Edition
by Seth Lloyd "

But of course it's not 'proven'.

Doesn't hurt to have the conversation, but it's not 'proven'. Nothing is proven.

If you master parts of your brain and body, with logic and science and yoga, the initial queasy feeling goes away as you (sorry Jonathan L. S.) learn to SWIM.

Could someone do me favor and talk about UFOs periodically?

Sometimes my threads are threatened to be closed, as my posts about UFOs often wander far afield.

Now, there is a reason for this; 'UFOs' are an artifact of the 'slippery nature of reality'.

So to understand them, you have to THOROUGHLY discuss the 'slippery nature of reality'.

So really, every dot of my posts are about 'UFOs', but it's not seen this way.

A bit more on what's 'real' and what's 'not real'. It's CRITICAL to get this. It can't be overstated.

In a manner of speaking, EVERYTHING is real.

There's no reason for nihilism or depression.

But the problem is..

Everything is just 'provisionally real', even the best science.

There might be (almost certainly is) a huge MOUNTAIN of information that we lack, and as Seth Lloyd and logic say, you can't 'simulate the universe with a quantum computer, unless it's the size of the universe'.

So, 'unless you are the universe' you can't 'be (know) the 'universe'.

But that doesn't mean, to use an IT metaphor, that individual parts of the code are 'wrong'. (unreal).

Not at all.

Code is code.

Might you not fully understand the code?

Obviously.

So it seems not fully real.

And it's not fully real,

in the sense that you cannot pluck a few lines of code out of the computer and proclaim that it represents the ENTIRE computer program.

That would make no sense.

So, ultimately, everything is 'real' (it's code), but it's better to treat it all as an 'illusion' (subject to constant change).

Everything is real.

Nothing can be relied or depended upon.

Except perhaps one sentence:

"Everything is real; nothing can be fully comprehended, so it's better to live without certainty."

In my view, past 'spiritual teachers' didn't do a proper job explaining this, so a lot of pain and suffering resulted about 'the great illusion' and 'nothing matters'.

EVERYTHING MATTERS.

(sort of)

;-)

Innerestin'. Krishna and Shiva are blue; so is the Adi Buddha (highest Buddha in Tibetan systems).

Blue flame burns hotter than any other color...

There is a LOT of energy in blue, I know that much:

I like your distinction between "nuts and bolts" UFOs as cheesy non-existent tropes versus what you chose in the first post to call "spirits" or "plasma" (quote marks and all). This is a completely valid distinction and I know intuitively what you are getting at.

It's interesting how so much of the debate about "visitors from outside" hinges around whether they are benevolent or malevolent. As you rightly note this is kind of a silly and meaningless debate. They are likely to be amoral (from our perspective), probably in a casually destructive way. They may not mean to torture us per se; but they might be interested (in a cooly detached manner, of course) in something unspeakably hideous.

Something like "let's warp these creatures psychospiritually and twist their souls into balloon animals just to test the viscosity and resilience of the stuff" or "dang, the magnetic fields of these pineal gland things sure are tasty. Funny how the humans fall into screaming terror-worlds when their occipital lobe magnetic poles are flipped, too. Their medical thinkers don't seem to understand the implications of neural electromagnetism and they are obsessed with brain chemicals. Well, all the easier to harvest."

Wrong element.

Water.

It's all about water.

Ever wonder why I use the metaphor of the ocean a lot?

The ancients thought there was a firmament above,

that was full of water.

It's in the Bible too.

So those who 'live in the upper firmament'

would have to be watery tarts lobbing scimitars (python reference)

ever notice that those same gods hold nautical things?

Siva's trident for example.

See the crabs scuttling around in some pictures?

Thank my first mentor for this.. I never wanted to agree with much of his
grounded common sense for the longest time. He was right and I was
wrong on a number of things.

Isn't it wonderful?

To KNOW what others just prattle about, like New Age morons?
