I don't really want Trump to win, but I really want SCOTUS (and America at large for that matter) to take these allegations seriously, and to recognize how inherently flawed and democratically unsafe the US way of conducting elections is.

I think I understand the "killshot" now.

They're arguing that, because the changes to voting process were made by some states' executive branches, and not by their legislative branches, the constitutional clause requiring the legislature to choose the electors (or decide the process for choosing electors) was not honored.


So, it's not because they changed the rules.

It's because the states' legislatures weren't the ones that changed them. It was done by executive orders.

States are clearly free to change their voting rules any way they want, so long as the legislature does it.
