I understand some people only have last gen consoles, but all these bad reviews simply as a result of the console issues feel to me like an overblown reaction. People are just hopping on the hate train because it's trendy

I'm wondering the same, I bought the game and a new laptop with it - just because the timing was right and i needed it for work. Aero 17 with a rtx 2070... I am maxing all settings to ultra and the games graphics are incredible. I've only about 10% through it but i havent had a single crash, just niggling bugs - like left clicking the mouse and the weapon doesn't fire again until i swap weapons.

The games pretty cool - well worth the price!

My only gripe is all the doors and shop fronts are closed, yet you're prompted to 'open the door' .. im yet to find and path to follow that isnt required for the story.

There's an update due for me and I'm on limited internet, so i cannot download the updates and play again for another week or so - i look forward to seeing what they've fixed up by then!

17 hours in and so far I've had no crashes either , it does however seem to be narrative driven rather than an RPG with freedom of choice , dialog choice seems to funnel you into one option so far.

All in all I'm enjoying the game especially since the new update fixed the keybinding issue , Night City is a beautiful and atmospheric playground and the story has interesting twists and turns although I do get the feeling CDPR had to scale back their ambition to get the game released.

exactly, it was setup to be much more interactive, hopefully over time those doors etc are opened up with new quests, missions added onto the game etc

More like outer worlds

Good analogy, I Would argue it is better than The Outer World's however, that said not as funny though there is one mission for some guy that has a prosthetic, you'll get it when you play it just look for those markers on the map that say "You never know what you might find" and it is one of those missions, I actually loved that mission but could not help but cringe for the poor NPC.

Certainly I think that the game when fixed will be one of my favourite games but at the moment I would give it a 75 out of 100 and I was hoping for something in the 90 range.

Apparently the 1.05 patch is out for the consoles and that fixes some NPC AI but not yet for the PC.

To be fair I have not seen this happen on the PC so maybe just on consoles but?.

IT could be just a bug related to random spawning of NPC's and there spawn height being too high or it could be an in house joke based on this.

Was watching a Yongyea video and its talking about if you craft or loot too much it can corrupt your save file; being its capped at 8mb, you go over this it will corrupt.

I saw this comment that damn near made me choke on my drink;

"

"I'll be honest with you guys, There never was a Cyberpunk game. We just wanted to hang out with Keanu Reeves."

Playing it on PS5, I have literally no glitches or anything so far. Great game

I've been playing since launch on Xbox One X and before the first patch there were a lot of visual glitches and very frequent hard crashes.

Two patches in ( so far ) and the most annoying of the visual bugs seem to be gone ( still a TON of pop-in cars and NPC's and, oddly, floating phones and cigarettes - everywhere ) and while the hard crashes are less frequent they are still happening about once every hour or so.

The 8mb save corruption issue Lys mentioned is likely going to be the downfall of my current playthrough as I've developed a habit of scrapping everything and crafting a lot.

The game is def playable on a mid range PC i7 ssd with a 8g 1070 GTX, I see the typical submerged cars and floating cigs, also some wonky path AI by NPCs and a few parts where the glitch prevented me from proceeding, so I just reloaded a save and will try again after the next update

One thing I tweaked that helped my frame rate and playability was reducing the game "clutter" setting I think it was, reduces overall amount of cars/ppl/stuff being generated. The city is still hellishly dense feeling

They spawn way too many weapons in battles I think, I have to break down and/or sell my extra gear after every single encounter, and its the same dumb cheap machine gun and handguns it seems like. I think I have something like 30+ scopes to pick from at lvl 25

I do like me the assault rifle with no vert/horiz recoil, and the machine gun with reduced weapon sway is insanely fun to mow people down with

Oh yay, we've regressed back to Morrowind era programming nonsense.

Gotta be honest here, the game is OK but not the spectacular step forward a lot of fanboys seem to be screaming about. In many ways GTA V does immersion and physics way better and that's a game built around a damn 14 year old engine. The Havoc engine CDPR uses as the physics build for their custom engine is newer than Rockstar's by far and still consistently disappoints in comparison.

Sucks to see this as Im a huge believer that I want games from competitors to do well because if they do , its better for my studio and better for us as gamers.

It should come as no surprise to anyone with any experience in this industry but you have the people writing the code vs the people making the choices banging heads...

I’m also on One X, at least mine has an SSD, so load times are very quick.
But I kinda just gave up... actually busy playing Witcher 3, never finished it or touched the dlc.

CP2077 is a janky mess, seems like it doesn’t matter what you’re playing on. Haven’t touched it for the last week, I’m 20hrs in and just about ready to wait 6 months.

Very fun game, very immersive. So I’m okay with waiting.
I played Skyrim and Fallout 4 from launch, and they were nowhere near as broken...

In a nutshell too much sex inspired crap, artwork with woman that have ball's and sex sound's around every corner like the whole city is a giant brothel I mean did CDPR think we were all going to CLAP for them?, too little actual character based game play and role playing since it's pretty much an on the rails experience and you can make any character you want it all ends the same, too much cut content that may have made all the difference such as a working train network, stations and underground system with the gang's and factions that should have used those.

Need's work, needs that cut content putting back in and forget the multiplayer that only really appeals to the console players but RPG players really want immersion and that is were it fails, the game world is intricate, superb in some ways' with ton's to find but it lack's immersion as your player never really feels like they matter, needs more life path's and less being forced down just the single route the main story forces you onto, allow the player to live out a life path for as long as they want, get booted from a Corp let them find a job, become a blade runner Robo Hunter like PI or a black market smuggler or even a cop before pitching them into the main quest when they feel like doing it, more interesting characters and some more dialogue are essential.

If they had done this then it would have been one of the best games, they did not do this and it is just a more sci fi and porn filled version of GTA (but without the boat's, planes and police chases) as a result, it really feel's like a game only half way through development, they have made most of the city, done most of the asset placing but never finished the AI, never added the police chases and it is just not what we want - yet, come on CDPR get your act together and fix this thing PROPERLY.

A game world is just a stage, this stage is very good but not perfect and the actors need work, the best characters have only bit parts except Neo Reeves and he is decidedly an acquired taste, I would have preferred a dirty harry type cop as an internal side kick or even the Duke - even a random character instead of just old Keanu who is probably wishing his name was not mixed up in this now.

It should be possible for your player to be mugged walking down the street or even outside there own apartment with a skill's check on that one allowing you to be mugged, talk your way out of it or fight your way out.

More random encounters (Are there any?).

More time in your chosen life path, yes the Corpo get's the kick but there are plenty of job's to put those skill's too, join the police for example and get E grade implant's as standard issue, some more detective missions would go down really well especially among blade runner fan's or even work as a PI or do some missions for the news network's in a nod to GTA with there paparazzi mission's.

Could have been and SHOULD HAVE BEEN a legendary game, now it is a missed opportunity at best and a company killer at worst.

Anyway sometime later this year we may yet get to see VTMB 2 and that is now worth waiting for since they refused to release it despite it originally being scheduled for this year since they felt it needed more development time, let's hope that pays off.

Feel let down by Cyberpunk, well get your fang's on (What happened to the cyber vampires and cyber fang's) and give CDPR a good bite to let them know your dissatisfaction.

www.bloodlines2.com...
(I want Paradox whom are making this one to bring back the other clans as well though but we will probably see them in multiplayer not that I will be using that, it would be nice some ancient's - way over powered vampires but if you beat them you can take there strength - but so far despite the old graphic's and camera, awkward control's and being on rails the best VTMB computer game remains the old school top down third person Redemption were you got to play a crusader seeking redemption for his soul - anyway if done right it will be far better single player game than this one, also think of it a bit like Deus Ex but with a supernatural twist instead of cybernetics' it pretty much work's the same way, hacking other's is mesmerising them, over heat is boil blood etc and each clan has it's own powers and weakness, I mean who does not want to be able to turn to mist and sneak into apartment's through vent's in a game, to be stronger than the average joe and to be faster and able to HACK your enemy's or should I say use blood feats on them)

Then again the Original VTMB was brilliant for it's time but one of the most bugged games ever released, sound familiar, after all of this time however the modding community have fixed much of it and even expanded it way beyond it's original developers plan's.

In the meantime comparing GTA 5 and Cyberpunk 2077

your above post is an excellent write up into why I have not purchased the game, which leaves me dissapointed, i was looking forward to playing this game so much

to see those videos which shows a game which ran well on 360/ps3 with features which immerse the player in the game world but they are sorely lacking from CP2077, after the heights of witcher 3 to this feature lacking game, i hope they add a working AI, i hope they add more in depth game world features, but I honestly doubt it, it will be all about squashing bugs now.

Biazarley CP2077 is probably the best advert to play GTAV again

Ahhhh what might have been, if only Rockstar Games had made Cyberpunk - and tried out making it RPG as well, all they would have had to do is update assets in there GTA, added some science fiction art and clothing, updated the character model to be more current generation and away they go, fine they would have had to try to learn to make it a - bit - RPG because that really is all that Cyberpunk is, it is not a true RPG as it should have been, in fact given how much of a mess they made of this it is likely that Rockstar may have kicked there butt there too.

And let's be fair they were copying Rockstar in another area as well, trying to court controversy but it backfired because they courted the wrong kind of controversy.

I guess some angry mod maker may just do it all for them, release a Cyberpunk 2077 as it should have been mod for GTA V.

Just mod GTA.

My opinion these modded character models are better than those in Cyberpunk 2077 so it can be done in the GTA V engine especially by talented mod makers.

And for something completely different but cool

So GTA V is better for several reason's, there are some killer mod's out or in the work's and it work's better with less bug's than cyberpunk 2077, also you can mod in some cyberpunk 2077 goodies as well and even new player model's if that is your thing.

So yes it does not have the story, these are mostly aimed at multi player etc BUT?.

Give cyberpunk 2077 a year assuming CDPR does not go broke after this debacle and just maybe it will be fixed, no more phantom cars on the bad land's freeway, no more jerky model glitches, no more disappearing NPC's or NPC's like headless chicken zombies, I think CDPR should give Rockstar a quick ring and ask for help if they really want to fix it.

And more
