So in the fall, when it starts to come back in your area, you will gleefully lock yourself down again? How many times will you do this before you realize that the virus doesn't disappear just because you hid from it?

Not gleefully, no. No body is happy about it. But if we must, we must. And there will be complaints.

Just last week, a guy that caught Covid in Adelaide, South Australia from working a gig at a overseas traveler quarantine hotel lied to contact tracers about working another gig at a pizza parlor and spreading it there. He said he only bought a take-away pizza from the shop, and was only there about 5 minutes. Authorities thought they had run across a new strain that could spread with the bare minimum of contact and put the State on immediate lock down. South Australians were pissed, but knew they had to do it to nail it down. They had been months without a new case of unknown origin. Of course they were even more pissed when they found out this guy lied. The lock down has been lifted already.

Thing is though, that we will have a relatively normal Christmas and New Years in Australia. My Thanksgiving will be smaller that past years though, I'll only be able to have over 15 friends instead of my usual 25 or so, and its going to be late, of course.

Covid isn't much worse from season to season in Oz. Furthermore, it looks like the vaccine will be being distributed before fall, and when that starts rolling out in earnest, there will be much less likelihood of further uncontrolled outbreaks.

A partial answer is that right now the most likely place to catch Covid is your own home, where masks are not required.

Also, you need to test, test, test, test, test, test... You have to locate EVERY carrier, symptomatic or not and get them into isolation until the virus is out of their system.

95% is not perfect. 1 carrier can infect many people who can in turn infect many others.

In Victoria ONE untrained security guard picked up Covid from a overseas traveller at a Quarantine Hotel, spread it to his family, one of whom worked at a meat works, and another at a school. With in ONE WEEK, Victoria went from zero unexplained cases to several hundred - in one week. And a thousand a day by the time we got into lockdown. It took 112 days of lock down to beat it down - and we don't want it to come back, so we continue to take it seriously.

This virus is one of the most contagious virus the world has ever seen. You must take it seriously and can not let your guard down for a moment.

That's another myth you need to resolve. Australians do not drink Foster's.

Why? If I get it, I have a 99%+ chance of living through it. In fact, if I get it, there's a really good chance I won't even know it.

Imagine that ... a virus that's so horrible to you that you can get it and get over it without even knowing it ...

You should probably go hide under you bed some more.

At the state level.

In order for the Supreme Court to do anything, a lawsuit of some sort needs to begin, and work its way to them...

They can not, unless my understanding of it is completely wonky, just arbitrarily rule "unconstitutional". That's not the way it works.

90 days jailtime???

Aye, that makes perfect sense.

Where i hail from they are letting people out or deferring putting people into our gaols because of dangerous pathogen.

Which is a double-headed doozy all in itself.

We're tired of closet dictatorial people trying to run our lives. So it all evens out, doesn't it?

Just stay home and curl up with your binky, and all will be good.

They've already let people out of the jails here to keep them from getting COVID, so now they jail everyone who won't comply to keep us from getting COVID.

Make sense?

Certainly nobody dangerous.

If it's sense you are after ketsuko, well that seems to be in short supply buddy.

One man's sence being the next man's nonsense, or so seems to be the case.

Not likely to happen. If it were to happen, I'd soon be in jail for something a bit more serious than not wearing a mask...
