I am late on replying and behind on Sidney but I wanted to say you are right. It is a slow motion train wreck when you know being smart is not bad. Why would they want to bypass the more intelligent being rewarded scholarships now? That seems counter productive. The Ivey league schools are bypassing the brightest as if that will work. They have to be trying to slow down the brightest.

Not sure how long you've been reading the threads. But as this is the 31st thread, yes, the regular participants will comment in a such a way that assumes knowledge of given topics.

If commentary seems opaque, speak up. I'm sure one of us will lend a hand.

I'm an outsider looking in objectively, and have lurked out of curiosity from time to time. But I'm really ignorant on the subject.

Makes me wonder if the policies that operated against admission of Asian-American students into the big name universities was a form of payback because too many of the educated Asian-Americans weren't mindlessly hopping onto the Progressive bandwagon. That would be Progressive political behavior to a "T".

I saw that and also noticed the squiggly line between 10 and 12. In my half asleep stupor I thought it was akin to snakes and ladders. Climb up to 4-5, slide down from 12 to 10.

They probably are just random lines but something is in this picture. My initial thought was the person in the centre and the arcs of view, much similar to those given to a soldier on sentry duty. (They were actually called out in clock timings and markers would be used to indicate the 10 > 2 field of view.

Whilst the person in the centre is watching their laptop they are not monitoring their arcs. Maybe that’s us, society etc. Too busy zoned in on our devices to notice the view in front of us, the one the the enemy is approaching from.
