I don't think either the UK or Scottish government has got everything right however as long as they are basing their actions on the best scientific & expert advice at the time then that is all we can ask.
when analysing inter-country differences, neither mobility (how much people move around) nor lockdown stringency (how harsh the lockdown is) come up as factors that determine mortality rates or duration to peak in the death curves. The virus does what the virus will do, whether or not the populace has been locked down.

And there is where you have been completely misled.
The Governments had the best scientific advice, but this is not what they are basing their actions upon.
Here is the perfect example of good science which is being ignored by the governments
Lockdown is not effective:

Now, I know your mind is already made up, so I don't expect you to read those links I posted, but they are factual and use expert science.
And if all of that time consuming reading is too much, then watch the first and last 35 minutes of this video, which has been posted on ATS previously: Link to Youtube vid. Do not let the references direct to SA put you off, the science and facts are still evident.
Now, you have factual science, which disputes government actions. So surely, the logical question now is to question why the governments are doing such things? Just like some of us are doing here.

If you haven’t noticed the social engineering and climate change agenda being pushed aggressively for the last 10 years you haven’t been paying attention. They needed the crisis. I can’t prove anything it’s just very convenient.
In countries like the UK (with lockdown) and Sweden (without lockdown), overall mortality since the beginning of the year is in the range of a strong influenza season
Swiss Policy Research (SPR) (before May 2020 Swiss Propaganda Research) is a website launched in 2016, which describes itself as "an independent nonprofit research group investigating geopolitical propaganda in Swiss and international media". The editors of the site are unknown, but they claim that "SPR is composed of independent academics and receives no external funding".[1] The site has been widely criticised for spreading conspiracy theories, especially during the times of the COVID-19 pandemic when it has become a source of misinformation and disinformation internationally.[2] The site has been categorized as a tool of propaganda.[3] It has also been noted that, contrary to what the title suggests, the contents of the site are likely created outside of Switzerland.
Summarizing the tactics which the CIA dispatch recommended:
Claim that it would be impossible for so many people would keep quiet about such a big conspiracy
Have people friendly to the CIA attack the claims, and point back to “official” reports
Claim that eyewitness testimony is unreliable
Claim that this is all old news, as “no significant new evidence has emerged”
Ignore conspiracy claims unless discussion about them is already too active
Claim that it’s irresponsible to speculate
Accuse theorists of being wedded to and infatuated with their theories
Accuse theorists of being politically motivated
Accuse theorists of having financial interests in promoting conspiracy theories
In other words, the CIA’s clandestine services unit created the arguments for attacking conspiracy theories as unreliable in the 1960s as part of its psychological warfare operations.

Total waste of time talking to you.
PANDA are pandemic research society SA. You need to look at the sources of data not the platforms.
But waste of time talking to you. Believe what you want, nobody will change your mind.

The longer one studies conspiracy theories and government corruption, then connects all the dots, the more it is obvious that the plan is played out on purpose. Lead governments, worldwide, use agencies like the IMF to coerce unwilling countries and whip them into shape. The play book was written decades ago.
How does it make sense that it is really a serious pandemic when it is so blown out of proportion? When the new rules further remove human freedom and dignity that conveniently benefit those in control?
The very fact the media immediately plastered every platform with "covid truth" links and censored thoughts contrary to official narrative doesn't strike you as odd?
Isn't it odd that the chaos created around the virus pits people against each other and it is known from history that divide and conquer is a tactic used to weaken a population?
Or that each area in each country seems to have a different protocol and is rarely science based?
Ask yourself this... if people were dropping like flies would the rules really state nonsense like gatherings of six per household, two household max? Or kids... less limits still yet we know they pack germs around too?
It's is a big mistake to think governments care about us and would do anything for our benefit. We are a tax source and work force and, I believe, modern communication among us with the internet has made the populace dangerous to the powers that be and this is designed to cut us down to managable size, whether literally or simply by public shunning remains to be seen.
I'm here because I'm skeptical.
