Or. Are you saying that knowing he was a felon with outstanding warrants, possibly armed (later confirmed) in the middle of a domestic dispute with two women, the police should have said take your knife and go we’ll catch up with you later?

I do agree all aside that one of the big problems I have with cops and the only thing I hope BLM helps to correct is cops are not trained to deescalate situations, I have talked on this a number of times, BUT to be honest... Your comments here tell me you are uninformed. Shooting anywhere but center of mass is usually illegal. They are cops, not circus performers. Hitting center of mass is hard enough.

Once the trigger is pulled you don't stop until they are going down. Remember how many shot Michael Brown took before he stopped attacking.

What you suggest is actually against policy and likely to get the officer arrested.

According to an initial release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice investigation, Blake did have a knife in his possession.

You were shown earlier in the thread that Blake was carrying a knife in his hand when he was shot. Why are you continuing to pretend this is even a question?

The reason the shooter was able to walk past police was because as far as they could tell, he was legally open-carrying a firearm. They can't tell he's 17 just by looking at him.

You are a cop and a guy resists arrests that you can not physically control who has a felony warrant and then blows off a taser to go get into a vehicle to do something and you don't see his hands anymore..what do you do?

As close as that cop was to him; I'd put the muzzle of my pistol on his "shin bone", and pull the trigger; the result is he is out of any further fighting...broken legs tend to do that.

Then of course, if he wanted to lie on the ground flailing his knife around, bleeding; I'd let him, he'll pass out soon and the medics can tend to him...he'll wake up in cuffs...

Broken legs don't prevent someone from using a gun that they have retrieved from their vehicle. A reasonable person could rationally assume that a man armed with a knife is not looking for another knife in his car.

Yet, when he was shot; he was incapable of presenting "deadly force". If I were to walk up on you, you might presume I'm unarmed, I carry no fire arm, no blade, no stick, although I might have car keys. But, you would be very wrong; I would be armed with the best weapon(s) a man could have...a brain, to fists, two feet, two elbows, two knees, and the knowledge and training to use those to kill in two or three blows (on a lazy day).

With a small fraction of the training I have, those cops would have had no problems taking him into custody, without any injuries (well not serious ones anyway).
