Seemed the simplest observations at the time, Three guys playing a game of pool, Yet, 3 people two sticks. Perhaps one is just spectating. waiting to play the winner.

If they were playing doubles then the camera man could be the 4th player. So the viewers of this picture, us, are also playing the game.
