We have to wonder why they did that?
It was a long time ago now and I do see it is likely to throw us off our biorhythm. When the Daylight Savings Time and Standard Time changes occur that is certainly a noticeable affect on many of us.

Knowing how they developed the Gregorian calends is most interesting, from memory the best German maths dudes of their time plus mainly, four Mayan stelle's, stones message recorders as such, still false time developed for a reason as for them 12 moons instead of our natural 13 mQQns is massively important as keeps things unnatural imo and experience.

Looking at it strictly in an academic and historic sense, the Catholic church both sponsored the Ptolemaic universe and condemned the Copernican model as it arose. In doing that, they built a state of the art observatory and developed the Gregorian calendar.
The work they did then was amazing, and what they do now is still cutting-edge science. So, their record of achievement in this area at worst "mixed". I just don't see the reason for denouncing the whole thing, based on a Latin pun naming a piece of equipment.

When the Federal Reserve needed Wall Street’s help with its pandemic rescue mission, it went straight to Larry Fink. The BlackRock Inc. co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer has become one of the industry’s most important government whisperers. In contrast to other influential financiers who’ve built on ties to President Trump, Fink possesses a power that’s more technocratic. BlackRock, the world’s largest money manager, can do the things governments need right now.
Still the arrangement is bringing new attention to the company’s scale and ubiquity. “It’s impossible to think of BlackRock without thinking of them as a fourth branch of government,” says William Birdthistle, a professor at the Chicago-Kent College of Law who studies the fund industry.
U.S. billionaires saw their fortunes soar by $434 billion during the nation’s lockdown between mid-March and mid-May, according to a new report.
Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg had the biggest gains.
Bezos added $34.6 billion to his wealth and Zuckerberg picked up $25 billion.

A Timeline—Pandemic and Erosion of Freedoms Have Been Decades in the Making
From RFK Jr Children's Health Defense site. Interesting timeline starting with Microsoft and the Baal and Malicious Gates Foundation in 1998 to present day.
1968 flu pandemic, also called Hong Kong flu pandemic of 1968 or Hong Kong flu of 1968, global outbreak of influenza that originated in China in July 1968 and lasted until 1969–70. The outbreak was the third influenza pandemic to occur in the 20th century; it followed the 1957 flu pandemic and the influenza pandemic of 1918–19. The 1968 flu pandemic resulted in an estimated one million to four million deaths, far fewer than the 1918–19 pandemic, which caused between 25 million and 50 million deaths.

Yep, indeed.
I looked that '68-69 flu up a few weeks back and even Woodstock took place during that pandemic. Nothing changed economically, nothing closed, no social distancing, no washing hands 10 times a day, no masks. No one was considered selfish then but as you said nobody 50 years ago was taking on the DeepState nor did it even exist in people's vocabulary, nor mind.
