I went to the Dr on Feb 7th and was told I have Chronic Bronchitis. ie trouble breathing, each breath felt and still feels like I have taken a deep breath of campfire smoke and have scorched my lungs, they feel heavy like they are full of wet cotton balls and not enough air is getting through on a deep inhale. I just want this crap to go away. Would Bronchitis be considered an underlying illness since my lungs are already compromised?

Yikes, are you coughing at all? Fever? Can you call and beg for a corona test? If they say "no you don't need one" tell them you want a follow-up appt to see the doc again and see if they hesitate about you showing up in their office!

Coughing .. yes, fever no. I just feel warm but there is no fever thankfully. I 100% trust my doctors diagnosis that I only have bronchitis. My family have been seeing him for years and he is the epitome of an old time country doctor in a modern world. He accepts no insurance so there is no copay. I pay a monthly premium directly to his office for unlimited visits per month and labs etc. No cost for most in office tests and procedures
For example, urinalysis, urine pregnancy, rapid test for strep and mono, blood sugar, pulse oximetry, blood pressure and pulse, fecal occult blood, EKG, lancing an abscess, simple skin tag removal, ear wax removal, joint injection and aspiration. Discounted out of office labs
$5 for complete blood count (CBC) and basic metabolic panel (BMP); $10 for complete metabolic panel, (CMP), cholesterol panel, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH); $15 for prostate specific antigen and testosterone level (at our cost rounded up to the nearest $5)
Discounted home medications for your convenience
No more waiting at the pharmacy for some medications: $5 for amoxicillin, Zpak, prednisone, and 3 months of lisinipril, hydrochlorothiazide, and losartan; $10 for 10 dissolvable ondansetron 8mg and 2 sildenafil (Viagra) 100mg tablets
A network of discounted services not provided at the practice
We know where you can get X-rays for $50, stress tests for about $100, ultrasounds for around $150, CT scans for $300, and MRI’s for a little over $500 – with interpretations included. We even know where you can get a colonoscopy for less than $1500, hernia repair for $2000, and hip replacement for $15,500 – everything included (fees for the facility, anesthesia, and surgeon).s.

Im confident I do not have covid-19

Thank you so much! It is what it is and I figure all I can do is be as careful as possible and encourage others to do the same. I'm not missing my son's wedding!

Wow, I want a doc like that! All of ours around here have been bought out by mega corporation buying hospitals, practices left and right. Sucks really!

Your Phone Is a Cesspool of Germs. Here's How to Actually Clean It

As the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to dole out advice for lowering your risk of catching the Coronavirus, you're probably washing your hands a little longer and touching your face a little less. But there's another easy step you can take to stay protected—and if you're anything like us, you rarely consider it.

Your smartphone, as it turns out, is covered with 10 times the amount of bacteria found on a toilet seat.....Continue

Most people i know are accepting this as a really bad flu
Assuming the undiagnosed,CFR totals are probably close to 1.5%,
So i tend to agree
However, most have not considered the burden on medical services, and the reality they could be carriers to less resistant persons.
Iv'e been in and out of all the 'doom' threads and know there is more than grains of salt of truth being shared.
yes i'm guilty of a few extra rolls of toilet paper
but for the reason of limiting OUR exposure when this virus becomes more prevalent.

I see no difference between the willful spread of this virus and the lack of concern for it

We have a year until a vaccine will probably be available
I hope we can be considerate, take precaution's for ourselves and those more vulnerable.

I am starting semi-isolation procedures. Here's what I posted in the the "What Are You Doing Differently" thread.

***************************************************************

I have now stopped eating out, which I used to do 2 - 3x/week. I am no longer going to a social club. I'll be making my husband breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, when he used to eat out. I can't make him stop eating out altogether (yet), but if it decreases the number of times he may be exposed, it decreases it. I'm going to try to get three annual medical visits that occur in April moved to sometime soon or postponed until Fall. If I can't get them postponed, I'll be showing up in mask, gloves and goggles. I'll try not to have a, "kiss my a**" attitude if anyone looks at me wrong, but I can't make promises. (Edited to add: If you want to tell me how wrong, etc., I am, please consider the above response as being given preemptively to your post.)

I'll only be going out to pick up groceries (not shop, just pick up). I'll wash well after handling the groceries and let everything sit for at least 9 hours before using it.

I'm a 62 y/o immunosuppressed kidney transplant recipient. I decided to pull the above trigger when NY State also declared a State of Emergency, Italy banned even weddings and funerals, and when I saw the American Hospital Association's stats. Also based on the fact that TD and one or two more have already bugged out. It didn't help, either, when I saw the quote from one professional that she expects all US hospital beds to be filled by May 8. Our local hospitals (and we have at least ten) could barely handle the flu season last year. This is not going to be good.

I don't know if these steps will protect me or not. I saw first-hand with giardia that if something is really infectious, good luck. It can still get you even when you do everything in your power to prevent it. At least I will have tried. I have cats I want to keep alive, and I don't want to suffer like I did in 2005 when I nearly died from a nosocomial MRSA infection.

If it all turns out to be nothing, I will have saved some money by not eating out. I've been pretty withdrawn from social activity anyway, so that's no big deal.

The image on the screen, I believe. is meant to be the Reddit logo, not a game. IE the meme conveys what we're all literally doing right - now -.

Didn't know it was the reddit symbol, lol. Might remove, still think maybe I have a point from just what the pic is, but no where near as good a one. Didn't know what I was doing 😂 Thanks for pointing that out

Ok, hopefully this post is a little better. This youtuber has noticed that FEMA has been setting up a lot of temporary dwellings on gov property for "homeless camps". They are unoccupied as yet, people have wondered why? He speculates they are for quarantine camps, organised before the outbreak started.

I don't care what anyone says.

Lock down the US.
I live in an area where it WILL if not already be here, and I would hate to see it spread into the elderly community here.

Lock down and wait out.

There is no other real option and I don't think most Americans realize what that means.
