In case you missed it, Federal Agents arrested Dr. Charles Lieber, chair of Harvard University's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, with lying to the Department of Defense about secret monthly payments of $50,000.00 paid by China and receipt of millions more to help set up a chemical/biological “Research” laboratory in China. Also arrested were two Chinese “Students” working as research assistants, one of whom was actually a lieutenant in the Chinese Army, the other captured at Logan Airport as he tried to catch a flight to China - smuggling 21 vials of “Sensitive Biological Samples” according to the FBI.

Oh, almost forgot. The research lab the good professor had helped set up? It’s located at the Wuhan University of Technology. Wuhan China is ground zero to the potentially global pandemic known as the “Coronavirus”which is both spreading rapidly and killing people.

The Department of Justice announced today that the Chair of Harvard University’s Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department and two Chinese nationals have been charged in connection with aiding the People’s Republic of China. Dr. Charles Lieber, 60, Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University, was arrested this morning and charged by criminal complaint with one count of making a materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statement. Lieber will appear this afternoon before Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler in federal court in Boston, Massachusetts. Yanqing Ye, 29, a Chinese national, was charged in an indictment today with one count each of visa fraud, making false statements, acting as an agent of a foreign government and conspiracy. Ye is currently in China. Zaosong Zheng, 30, a Chinese national, was arrested on Dec. 10, 2019, at Boston’s Logan International Airport and charged by criminal complaint with attempting to smuggle 21 vials of biological research to China.

A new confirmed case of coronavirus infection was added in Macao. The patient was a 29-year-old female and a Macao resident. Up to now, the number of confirmed cases in Macao has increased to nine.

After a preliminary investigation, this patient visited the home of the eighth confirmed case in Macao on January 24 and stayed there for about 4 hours. He had runny nose, cough, and fever since January 25, and the symptoms disappeared thereafter. Yesterday, the case was tracked by the Health Bureau when the contact was found and it was suggested to go to the hospital for testing. After testing, it was positive for the new coronavirus. It was listed as the 9th confirmed case in Australia and has been arranged for treatment in an isolation ward. The patient has denied recent departure from Australia. Initial consideration is given to the infectious relationship between this case and the eighth case. The disease prevention and control team of the Health Bureau is conducting a follow-up investigation of its epidemiological history and close contacts./

Virus comes out. Everyone is locked down. People are forced out of there homes by people dressed as health authority people and taken away for 'quarantine' and the good of the public's health and wellbeing. They end up dying of 'Corona virus'.

On January 24 2020 there were: 869 confirmed cases worldwide, including 26 fatalities

China has completed construction of their 1st Emergency Hospital/Quarantine facility. It took 10 days and has started taking in patients. Many are questioning the need for bars on the windows and doors that do not open from the inside:

Hubei province is still the epicenter of the outbreak and the infection rate is climbing as each day goes past.
3rd Feb: 2,345 new cases and 64 new deaths in Hubei province
2nd Feb: 2,103 new cases and 56 new deaths in Hubei province
1st Feb: 1,921 new cases and 45 new deaths in Hubei province

These numbers are not considered accurate for a number of reasons:
1- Hospitals may have reached the ceiling number on tests per day
2- Test kits are in short supply Link
3- Large numbers of people were turned away from hospitals and not tested
4- It can take up to 4 tests to show infection Link
5- CCP is pushing hard to limit information

Numbers are still climbing


The international infections appear to be contained, for the most part. Although its still too early to sound the all clear. Germany is the exception, one lady visited a German company from China and it has resulted in 12 infections. This is the most significant spread outside of China to date.

There is a lot of discussion about the origins of the virus still - some claim its bio engineered and the live food market in Wuhan isn't the source. However, there's no real proof either way of this yet.

Dr. Francis Boyle, who drafted the Biological Weapons Act has given a detailed statement admitting that the 2019 Wuhan Coronavirus is an offensive Biological Warfare Weapon and that the World Health Organization (WHO) already knows about it.

The 2nd ship in Italy was given the all clear.

Chinese stock markets opened yesterday for the first time since the outbreak and dropped significantly. This occurred even though China implemented 2 significant trading actions:
1- No Short Selling
2- Injected $US170 billion in liquidity

There is a lot of footage coming out daily of people lying in the streets, people being locked in their homes, villages chasing away outsiders and people fighting. Also lots of footage of Chinese military and medical personnel forcing people into ambulances.

I think that picture is not misleading, but it must be the special rooms. The partition rooms that I saw on TV are 4 beds to a room and it did seem like "curtain partition" type separation.

Couldn’t remember my login from many years ago. Made a new one to chime in & thank EVERYONE on ATS for their contributions on this strange situation!

Been staying up to date on here and reddit.

I saw someone in part 1 say they feel as if they are watching a movie play out. I feel the same. Its surreal.

Earlier was visiting my parents talking about whats going on. Masks have been sold out in my area for about week at most big places.
Saw a post on reddit while there (could not be verified-so take with lots of salt) possible 3 cases in Harrisburg PA -they overheard a nurse in scrubs talking on the phone saying this while they were at a gas station in middletown PA.

Day before on twitter a user posted there is a confirmed case in Harrisburg (not listed on any map-no way to verify at this point-so again grain of salt) when he was asked on twitter he just stated something along the lines of having inside hospital knowledge.

This is in my area. So im intrigued to see what truth, if any, these rumors hold. Again not reliable sources but strange two separate instances of ppl saying this.

Will continue to monitor the threads on this site and locally try to find out some truth!

Since I live here in Japan and get the Japanese news first hand with pictures, videos and the faces of the Japanese journalist that are still holding out their turf , stuff you are saying is pretty much on target, what Americans really aren't seeing now is the brawls on the streets fighting to protect their turf from outsiders and these outsider are on bikes and with some luggage.
It truly is looking like dog eat dog. What is being shown is not really in the high rise districts, but roads that go into them villages.

Morning news has it "mask " are going as high as 300 bucks for a pack between 40 to 54. I just bought one after leaving the hospital this morning. Sign says "only 1 per family" per visit. No exceptions. This was in Japanese and not in English.
The shelves were nearly empty. I bought the expensive one, the only few that were left on a shelf.
To verify what I'm saying for those that wish to follow me, I will never post (or a least not post hear say bs) The popular stores here are Costmos and Trial. Check the info on price increases and availability. These mask are Japanese made.
I missed the morning show, but it had on that you can make your own mask with paper towels. Maybe check google on that one.

Health and Travel Alert – U.S. Embassy Tokyo, Japan (February 3, 2020)



Location: Tokyo, Japan

Event: Coronavirus Outbreak -- Travel Restrictions, Safety Measures



The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring the novel coronavirus that was first detected in Wuhan, China and subsequently declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organization (WHO).

For current information and guidance regarding this disease outbreak, U.S. citizens in Japan are advised to consult the WHO and CDC websites.



U.S. Travel Restrictions and Presidential Proclamation

The U.S. Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services has declared that the coronavirus presents a Public Health Emergency in the United States. In accordance with the declaration, beginning 5 p.m. EST, February 2, 2020, the U.S. government started implementing temporary measures to increase its abilities to detect and contain the coronavirus proactively and aggressively. These measures include:

• All flights with travelers who have been in mainland China within the last 14 days will arrive at a select number of designated ports of entry.

• Any U.S. citizen returning to the U.S. who has been in Hubei province in the previous 14 days will be subject to up to 14 days of mandatory quarantine, to ensure they’re provided proper medical care and health screening.

• Any U.S. citizen returning to the U.S. who has been in the rest of mainland China within the previous 14 days will undergo proactive entry health screening and self-quarantine to ensure they do not post a public health risk.

• Additionally, the President has signed a Presidential Proclamation using his authority pursuant to Section 212 (f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act suspending the entry into the United States of foreign nationals who pose a risk of transmitting the 2019 novel coronavirus.

• As a result, foreign nationals, other than immediate family of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, who have traveled in China within the last 14 days will be denied entry into the United States.

Level 4 Travel Advisory for China – Do Not Travel

The United States advises U.S. citizens not to travel to China. If you do travel to China, you will be subject to additional screening and public health measures upon return the United States. The U.S. Department of State will continue to closely monitor the situation in China and will revise our travel advisory as conditions warrant. For additional information, refer to travel.state.gov.



Japanese Government Actions, Cabinet Order, Entry Restrictions

A Government of Japan (GOJ) Cabinet Order designating the novel coronavirus as a Designated Infectious Disease took effect February 1. The law allows local authorities to compulsorily test and quarantine individuals. Under the Order, Japan will impose an entry ban on people infected with the novel coronavirus. The Immigration Services Agency of Japan announced that effective February 1, 2020, foreigners who have travelled to Hubei Province in China within 14 days before arriving in Japan, and foreigners who have a Chinese passport issued by Hubei Province are not permitted to enter Japan. Residents who develop symptoms in Japan are advised to wear a mask and contact a medical institution as soon as possible, and to declare if they have stayed in Wuhan. The Japan National Tourism Organization offers a 24/7 multi-lingual (English, Chinese, Korean) call service that can provide coronavirus-related information and assist in case of emergencies (accident or sickness) at 050-3816-2787.

Other countries are also imposing travel restrictions to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. The U.S. Embassy advises checking with destination government officials in advance of commencing travel, particularly if you have recently been in China.



Actions to Take:

· Consult the CDC website, for the most up-to-date health information.

· Check with the airlines regarding any flight cancellations and/or restrictions on flying. Be aware that airline schedules are changing rapidly.

· • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

· • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

· • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

· • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.

· • Seek medical care right away if you feel sick or were exposed to someone who has a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.
