Nah, the boat's in my cellar. Not a nice view and need to demolish the house to get it out. That's my next project. God doesn't talk to me anymore either, he just laughs.

I've lost track of how many were infected on the Diamond Princess earlier - now it is 130. This article says

As passengers have apparently been under stress during their prolonged isolation on the ship, the Japanese government is planning to allow the elderly and those with chronic illnesses to disembark the vessel quarantined near Tokyo soon, possibly on Tuesday morning, a source familiar with the matter said.

Was it? I swear each time I hear about the ship there are another 60 confirmed cases... The news link I posted said 130 from the ship and 20 in Japan itself. Maybe that's old news by now...

Maybe cottrel sorry if that’s spelt wrong and can’t remember the first name but all social media has been shutting down threads, accounts, pages for past few days, seems to be a effort to control the narrative

So when scrolling twitter someone made a post showing how the official death toll amount seems to follow a Quadratic equation

One wonders if they are confirmed numbers, or just estimates based on math?

Yes, not just the death toll, but confirmed cases too. A quadratic fit gives a very good fit to the given data and so can be used to predict ahead.

I don't buy that the rate will follow a quadratic, and the suspicion is that China is using a quadratic equation to give them the figures that they wish to manufacture/publish. I'm not sure I buy that either, it could just be that quadratic gives a nice fit at the moment!

Edit: Should also say that exponential would be the expected model, but even true data would not show that all the way through since R0 changes etc. Data may not be lies though since China must be struggling to keep up with the sheer amount of testing and reaching everybody, and evidence supports this. Data for deaths does seem highly questionable though, and could be China trying to keep the hopes of its people on side and avoid revolt and exacerbation.

MedCram breaks down the paper on the infections inside the hospital. It seems that most of them came from one patient who presented to the ER with nausea and vomiting.

There is a lot more information breakdown in this video on the patients in this paper and what the information means.

Maybe they took some of them off to the hospital and longer count them as sick aboard the ship? Not everyone who gets sick needs to be hospitalized.

That’s him, very informative post, he did say his videos keep getting deleted hence why he’s labelling them odd things like Sunday Monday

Suggest everyone watch his videos they’re really loaded with information

Thank god somebody remembered, me and the wife watch them every night at the moment

Too many

What i did was went to the documentary’s to try to understand it and started to compare A/B

Then I went strait to documentaries based on those who survived it lol

This was a good watch from memory



1 soldier caught it, spread it to the entire country, everything this man says is what we are seeing

In my humble opinion and expressing only my feelings out of China, if we didn't have these 3 peculiar / particular cases which are:

1) the cruise ship
2) Singapore meeting
3) the very recent British super spreader individual case

I have the felling we could said that cases were really decreasing and back to normal... (out of China)

I just ordered Pale Rider: The Spanish Flu Of 1918 And How It Changed The World. It was delivered today.

I have also read a great article by The Smithsonian that I mentioned days back.

I would also be interested in any other suggestions Ketsuko or any other members have.

Are you able to say whether any of those confirmed came off that cruise ship off of New York? (At least I believe it was New York?) I read that 3 had been diagnosed with 'flu' and i wonder what the post mortem will reveal for the crew member that was found dead but apparently nothing to do with the virus..?
