Are we all guilty to some degree of being arrogant and hypocritical ?

I know I have been 🤷🏻‍♀️.. not meaning to ..but none the less it’s true.

I really don’t like arrogance in people and it makes me want to do the opposite of their judgemental arrogant advice ,if they try and tell me what to do. I know that isn’t the most mature approach but I don’t care for humans thinking they are better than others because of what they read , what they do for a living, how much money they make, or even what spirituality they buy into.

I know as a Christian that many don’t buy into my spiritual beliefs and I’ve come to easily accept that. I’ve admitted that I have been a poor example of Christianity at times, but I try to apologize if I think I’ve come short, though often those apologies are thrown back in my face.

I have noticed the extreme arrogance of some who call themselves Buddhists and love to judge Christians and Christianity... all the while giving the excuse that it takes years to achieve inner peace. Just fake Buddhists I guess ? 🤷🏻‍♀️.. aren’t they supposed to be all chill and non judgemental as well as sexually pure ?

Oh well .. keep working on it I guess .. just like so many Christians need to work on forgiving others , trying to love without judgement... that can take years , too. 😆

Heard someone say the other day that 99% people are ‘fake’ and think they are the 1%. 😆

Honestly my guess is it’s more like 100 % at least some of the time... hopefully that doesn’t sound too harsh.

Some humans are much more arrogant than others and there is evidence of that on these forums... but I think we all struggle with arrogance and hypocrisy.. some much more than others.

Anyone else suffer from allergies to arrogance ?

I would agree to your statement on hypocrisy.

But I don’t care if I’m hypocritical or not .

Nobody’s opinion matters because they are beneath me .

I’m to rich, good-looking and cool .

Hi Sheye.
Am allergic to arrogance, but it seems like mine stinks more than another's.
For another may not know better.

We recognize these things in ourselves, no ?

Hypocrisy?? - Absolutely, especially if you are a parent, one becomes a hypocrite by virtue of not allowing children to do things adults can do.

*says whilst inhaling a cigarette...."No, you can't have a cigarette"
*says whilst drinking a beer...."No, you can't have a beer"
*says whilst eating chocolate..."No, one piece for you is enough, because dentist"
*says whilst watching youtube and posting on ATS..."Get the hell outside, I'm sick of you glued to the TV / gaming all day"

Then we just adjust that for everyday life with internet people BUT not so much with actual real oxygen breathing blood-bag hoomans.

I blame the internet, and as we know, the internet always wins.

Anyway, I'm arrogant enough to know my limits, all I can say is don't (anyone) confuse my sarcasm with arrogance, there's a distinct difference, and yes, hypocrisy exists in everybody.

Yours stinks more than others ? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Don’t know you personally.

I see hypocrisy in myself and at times, a tad of arrogance though I’m more apt to suffer from low self esteem.

I see it in spades in others and honestly is nauseating to me.

I know I probably shouldn’t care but its just a reaction I get that’s hard to control.

But mirrors are good.. I don’t fear them .. and I wish more people used them to really see how hypocritical they are.

I live in mountains. I guess lot like Buddhist monk or Catholic priest. Alone with library. It's a gift just to be here and alive. Can walk can see. A lot of people or voices from different directions try to tear me down. You have to have respect for yourself. Talked with old friend he said he could still hear the name calling echoing an it hurt him from childhood. I roll my eyes and doesn't touch me. Swarming from all directions sometimes. Friends significant other or skeleton of jackal in baby carriage. Empty space and being without. Without money without sex but got time. Meditate. I try not to be arrogant but I talk to few people. If you had a camera in my head maybe I have good self esteem or proud of self.

Nothing wrong with confidence DB , but I’ve met some extremely arrogant people who were extremely competent at what they did. Take the entertainment industry for example .. Robert de Niro is a competent actor, but his arrogant offensive ways are a turn off to me.

Some will say the same about Trump.

Humility is considered a virtue for a reason... I think 🤷🏻‍♀️

Then again maybe you’ve just become immune to it ? Hope so .. I don’t like the nauseous feeling I get.. hopefully it goes away. 😂

Certainly but at the same time I can't pretend to at least have a sliver in me of what I hate. I think there is something with trying to push away or call out the things we hate about ourselves.

Personally, I feel that I'm the nicest most fun guy I know but I have the lowest tolerance for someone bing a @!(# to me for no reason.

Hypocrite, I don't know anyone that isn't at one time or another, though some are so much more than others. Contradicting oneself in the same sentence even.

Still, I try not to judge anyone but if you get really technical about it, I don't think anyone can possibly not judge another in some fashion.

I think we're creatures of habit more than anything. I still do my best and go out of my way to be considerate of others.

Still, like everyone else, I'm only human. Sadly, some people don't even care to be that. They're just vile vitriol of an empty soulless spirit.

Absolutely ridiculous analogy using parenting. Parents need to make choices that are appropriate for a child.. and often that is different than what is ok for adults. If you can’t see that is not hypocrisy than just have another beer and chill.. cause it won’t be me trying to change your mind.

Next parents will be hypocritical for not allowing their children to have sex before they think they are at a reasonable and mature age.🙄

Thank you for reading replying. Remember watching Adam Sandler in interview or commercial, everything you just said about me turn it around to you. Didn't M might shamalon make a movie where on the horizon things were upside down or level below. Might have been called Devil. Even Lucifer had a halo. Maybe not be so quick to judgement or condemning others to death then look at your own misgivings. Anyway just rambling. Thanks for giving me a voice.

Edit: maybe just saying in riddles or something, hypocrisy saying one thing and doing another. Look into yourself and worry about yourself then casting judgement on others. Through meditation one can see things differently. Sort of the world replaying a South Park episode where Britney Spears blows off most of head with shotgun cause photographers are Satanists or in on " Harvest". So this was all planned? See the flames? Like Smith I can see you. What you are doing is evil. Jumping to grandiose conclusions or for living in her house all gang up on Britney? To fulfill what her music careers. Livestock born and breed to be slaughtered so we can drive to supermarket and make dinner for kids. A play. There was one Resident Evil where this creature was chained to basement. Dont say anything. My conspiracies are all to do with Buddist junk. I am sorry for not using paragraphs first post. Edit: don't mean to detail thread might start own or might not take a few days off.

hmm🤔.. I don’t pretend that I don’t have issues with hypocrisy and arrogance as well. I mentioned it in the OP 🤷🏻‍♀️

But I think your insinuation that I am trying to push away or call out what I hate about myself is way off the mark, rather insensitive and unkind ,and totally hypocritical to what you said about yourself doing your best to go out of your way to be nice to others.🤷🏻‍♀️

So you contradicted yourself in one post .. quite clearly with assumptions and judgements.

Oh well.. it’s what the thread is all about.😕

Still, like everyone else, I'm only human. Sadly, some people don't even care to be that. They're just vile vitriol of an empty soulless spirit.

I’m only human too.. as stated in the OP.. but..
Everyone has a soul .. some are just more lost in darkness and hate, bitterness...Hopefully things can turn around for them 🙁.

Nah, wasn't referring to you

I'm not sure where that insinuation came from. I re-read to see where I accused you of being anything at all. I don't think I referred to you once in my response.

I was referring to only me, my thoughts and outlook. Of course it has nothing to do with being right, just my observation from the eyes that I see through, if that makes any sense.

I think I speak in general statements too often where the word YOU is often said as it should be "we or me". Labeling another person's traits is judging
To me anyways. So I try not to do that. I don't like painting pictures of other people unless I'm crossed. I'll admit, I'm spiteful as hell but only when pushed around. I rather be left alone and laugh with everyone around me.
