I've been reading articles blaming conspiracy theorists for "dangerous rumor-spreading" about the Wuhan coronavirus, notably about the BSL-4 lab in Wuhan. But in the past there have been many accidents at these labs so it really isn't so far-fetched this virus walked out with some researcher.

Ten incidents discovered at the nation's biolabs:

www.usatoday.com...

From respirators failing, to needle-sticking, to holes in BSL-4 pressure suits, I find it entirely possible this virus escaped the Wuhan biolab. It would explain the desperate measures they're taking to quarantine cities.

It is completely plausible that some uneducated worker sold animal corpses to the meat market I stead of disposing of them

I wouldn't be at all surprised - probably most of the even educated workers there wouldn't be told exactly what they were testing, the whole country runs on secrecy and misinformation.

Probably thought what a waste to throw all these bats, monkey brains and other assorted treats into a furnace when I can make a few Yuan down the meat market.

Doctor on phone to director: "What have you done?" tells the tale. It is Asian-custom not to openly discuss bad-news. Look at Fukushima and the lies of TEPCO to the Japaneses gov't.a reply to: new_here

I see the WHO is still saying it recommends no travel restrictions. They still seem nonplussed by it all.

They are right though. The risk of death from the yearly flu is still far greater than the risk from this.

Realizing that the UN essentially operates the WHO and the IMF, and realizing that the IMF's money comes from member nations as a percentage of how robust their economies are, I'd argue that the WHO would be very much like Nero... fiddling while Rome burns in an effort to kick the can as far down the road as possible before being forced to admit there's a major problem that will ultimately lay the smack down on one (or more) of the largest economies in the world.

Look at SARS... Identified in November of 2002, WHO didn't issue a travel advisory until March of 2003 after 2,000+ cases were confirmed and 500 deaths were recorded. (In stark contrast, SARS had an incubation period of 2-7 days, while this has 10-14 days and we are already almost certainly past the 2,000 cases threshold though the deaths aren't to the 500 cases (at least not officially). WHO is giving markets time to buttress against the fallout. We've essentially had 3 business days since this was admitted to be a serious thing. Fast forward to end of next week and, if this manifests as a lot of models have predicted and patients in places like the US who have not visited China start falling ill, then the markets will enact protections and WHO will start doling out travel restrictions.

I see the CDC is also not saying much.

I watched a lot of video's from China and claims about it all this morning and I have to admit this seems different. It is amazing to watch the video's of what building a 1,000 bed hospital in 6 day's looks like. The number of excavators all working in tandem is almost akin to the building of the pyramids. Having worked on many industrial, multi billion dollar construction jobs in the 1970's, I know just how difficult the logistics would be to do that. We here in the US could not do that. The permitting alone would take weeks if not months even in an emergency. My hat is off to them for what they are accomplishing. Maybe in WW2 we could have matched that, but not now. We've forgotten how to join together like that.

I also saw one where a nurse in her spacesuit was claiming there are now 90,000 infected and we are being lied too. It's hard to know what to believe. If the past is prescient, this will fizzle out in the end and it will be not nearly as serious as protecting from the annual flu going around. It's hard to say.

Ok, but do we have confirmation of any of any of this?

The hospital building is fact, it's been reported, but more a temporary "tent" hospital to accommodate cases.

But the whole claim of 90K infected, source?

I don't buy random videos.

The permitting issue in the US could be potentially sidestepped with an emergency declaration. I mean the DOT here avoided a slew of permits temporarily reconstructing Vine Road after the quake and it was running through a damn wetlands swamp. Those emergency declarations are universally the most powerful tool any government can use to make something happen ASAP.

I'd question the structural strength and long term viability of any building constructed in a few day's time, though. It's obviously a short term field triage facility and not something that will be left standing longer than absolutely needed.

Google it.

I don't have time to find it now, but earlier I watched a video showing and aerial view of all that equipment operating at once and it was like a choreographed dance.

Did this effort appear to have the requisite relief for such things as sewage and electrical? It was my understanding that this structure is something more like a temporary morgue and ultimately a huge makeshift crematorium.

I didn't see any 'digging' going on. Flattening the ground exclusively would lend itself to that end of a CT.

I'd imagine it is a temporary rushed thing. That does not change the fact of what they are trying to accomplish in that short of time.

Odd anyone would criticize that to be honest. Give credit where credit is due.

When I first saw that image on the news, I wasn't really paying much attention to the announcer, it was Lester Holt, after all, but I thought it looked like guitars.

Anyone interested needs to read Zerohedge.com

They’ve been on this from the beginning. Ive posted links to their stories in other threads.

Summation as of today Saturday 25th

China stole corona virus samples from Canada last year
The married Chinese scientist couple responsible were fired
Those viruses turned up in the Wuhan lab which also houses SARS
Said lab was constructed with assistance of WHO
Lab is 20 miles from the market

BUT

Also reported researchers said patient one was NOT infected at the market but some other way. Some secondary persons spent a lot of time at the market.

And finally, no way CCP would risk losing face by using their military medics openly like this unless there was something seriously wrong. Like bio weapon release wrong.

Like I said read Zerohedge.com they are all over this story and cite all their sources.

When I was a child in 1978-79 I got the Russian Flu which I believe was a H1N1 flu . Neither of my patents who were born in the 50s came down with the flu . I was bed ridden for 6-8 days in delirium and fever ! It was horrible ! My mother would sit with me day and night giving me narcotic cough medicine . I was in a waking dream of sweat and hallucinations . After about 8-10 days I was back at school and fit as a fiddle ! Were my parents immune to the flu I got , because of pervious pandemics or vaccines? Am I less likely to suffer from a bad strain due to my exposure to the Russian Flu ! Another question I have is this : Was the Russian Flu and Brazil Flu of 1978-79 the same ? Thanks to anyone who can share info or explain this to me ! Any other 70s Russian/Brazil flu victims ?

Just read the Zero Hedge article and i think this is more likely the cause. Sounds like the market story is cover for some other blunder. Nothing surprises me these days, especially with China.

They know where it came from. They know what it is. They know it’s potential. This explains the panic in China and its utterly unprecedented attempts to halt it. Crippling your country and economy for a cold/flu virus? I’m not buying that. This is a manipulated virus. They will sacrifice Wuhan and any other city to stop it. This is only the beginning. All in my opinion though and I have been wrong before according to my wife.

update (but, watch the first video first)

The Chinese Army has deployed 50,000 troops to surround Wuhan, with orders "SHOOT TO KILL" anyone trying to escape as hundreds are trying to flee the cities-- ON FOOT -- because there is NO FOOD.

Armored Vehicles are on the streets as more and more videos emerge of infected citizens dropping-dead as they walk!

Never before in the modern history of human existence, have 46 Million people been Quarantined; yet that is exactly what is taking place in China today.
