I'm not sure that says they can select their candidate regardless of the primary outcome(s), but it certainly alludes to that, in that, the person(s) bining this suit were told to take a hike.

She also said she will vote to acquit Trump.

She pointed out that the Dems did not even attempt to tie any kind of crime to Trump's actions, and how their own (in)actions undercut their claims that Trump was an urgent threat to our country. And she, like Murkowski, said that nothing Trump is accused of is bad enough to warrant removal.

Basically, the moderate Republicans are showing that you can dislike Trump, and still act like someone with a mental age greater than 12.
