Yeah the stock is banned
The bullpup stock for pistols is also going to be banned
Semi auto .22 and shotguns are not banned. Even ‘military style’ ones (which will scare some people, because they are black, like Rambo’s one, so that means they’re designed to kill people). Limit is ten round magazine.
Lever action is not banned. Limit to factory magazine capacity only.
No change at all in any of their pistol laws
‘All military style semi automatic centre fire rifles are banned’ is pretty much the change
So the actual effect it will have on ANY future gun crime is absolutely zero. That cannot be argued.

I don't really have an issue with an armed citizenry, at the same time I have no issue with there being restrictions on said weaponry.

That’s quite an absurd reason really. Maybe gun owners should be storing their weapons better for starters..
Seems to be boiled down to “Don’t have nice stuff coz bad people will steal it”

www.foxnews.com...
The government banned the most lethal types of semi-automatic weapons
And remember, all this is because a guy who's single goal was to get New Zealand to ban firearms, killed some people and his reward was he got exactly what he wanted.

Sshhhhh
The amount of weak and gutless leftists in this site is quite high
Narking and doxxing and reporting people to the authorities for falsely-perceived grievances is par for the course. The very worst among them on this site lives in New Zealand, 100% chance he’ll report your post for investigation. It’s just what they do. Pussies.
As for “nothing will change if we don’t do something”
What a pathetic argument. Nothing was happening. Nothing needed to be changed.
Oh ONE person attacked a group of people ONE time. ONCE.
I wonder what laws the weak and gutless are seeking to change to combat ‘other’ types of crimes? ‘Other’ types where the ONLY motivation is a religious text.
Will the religion be banned? Will the text be banned?
No of course not
These people do not care one single bit about the lives of others, the safety of others or anything else they ‘claim’ to care about.
They DO care, however, that the media has told them that ‘guns are bad’ and that’s the absolute limit of their understanding
Ban all cars to stop drunk drivers from killing people. 100% that is exactly the same as removing harmless firearms from the most law-abiding group of people in the country. It will not stop one single gun crime from being committed.
When a criminal commits a crime it’s the fault of the patriarchy or white colonialism or some other totally fabricated reason like that.
Unless he uses a gun. Then it’s the fault of ALL people who like to hunt and shoot for sport.
The firearms confiscation in NZ was a total failure. An extremely tiny amount of firearms were handed in. Less than a third of projected numbers.
I wonder why?
And the attitude of the weak and the gutless towards those who refused? “Arrest them, make examples of them, THEY are the ones at fault here”

I"m not even saying that their removal of whatever weapons they want isn't ultimately a good thing for their country. For them, it may be a majority thing. All countries aren't the USA. But making monumental decisions like this, usually require some thought and discussion, and planning, none of which should be done in haste due to recent horrible events. Judgement isn't clear during an event like that. And it's always easier to get the toothpaste out. Putting it back in, not so much.

My argument isn't that they made this choice, it's how the made it. Under duress. And then the idiotic reasoning in the article had to get a nod.
You make their case for them above. It is exactly because New Zealand isn't the USA that this may work for them. Like us in blighty, they are an island nation. Unlike us, they are also remote. Those things together mean enforcement of this policy is much easier to maintain.
Good on them, i say. New Zealand is not a country with much, if any, need for guns beyond military and law enforcement. Not even needed for hunting there.

Really weak people need a weapon to feel safe. If you knew how many of these 'weak' leftists have helped you in your life, you would go crazy.
