The government banned the most lethal types of semi-automatic weapons

Most lethal? Do the ones they bought back fire something other than bullets? A gun, much like a sling shot, propels a projectile, and the end result can be death.

But wait for it......

Police Minister Stuart Nash told reporters Saturday that criminals would find it harder to get their hands on assault weapons because they tended to steal them from lawful owners, but those weapons would now be out of circulation.

Drugs are usually bought from people, so if we kill all the people, we can solve the drug problem.

And remember, all this is because a guy who's single goal was to get New Zealand to ban firearms, killed some people and his reward was he got exactly what he wanted. I've said this before, perhaps this nice man could have just wrote a letter, and asked that they ban firearms, then many lives, including his could have been saved. It seems the banning of these weapons was something the public wanted to do anyway.

Remember, if you are afraid of someone stealing your stuff, just get rid of your stuff. Derp.

So what would your solution be? Do nothing? Make fun of the issue instead?

Nothing changes without making changes.

The solution was a knee jerk one. It might be the correct one, but that would be a fluke, as most who react first and think later understand.

But My issue is with the clear NON-understanding of weapons, and these are the one's making laws regarding ......weapons.

Then telling people out loud that your logic to reduce theft is to remove that, which is being stolen. If I have to explain this one to anyone, I'd just rather admit that we aren't intellectually compatible.

The solution is to simply try the criminal for breaking the law, and move on. Banning of any weapons was completely unnecessary.

The sad thing is so many people aren't able to realise this because they've been scared away from actually reading the manifesto.

Pretty sure it's illegal to have a copy over there.

Dudes a scumbag for sure but if we're kept from seeing his reasonings we're kept from understanding and stopping these sorts of things.

The kiwi government should release a point by point rebuttle of the manifesto, not pretend it doesn't exist.

The idea is don't become more stupid to become less stupid. Doing it that way is a no win scenario. Oops, too late for any country who misses that boat. PS: It's happening all around the world at an alarming rate.

I"m not even saying that their removal of whatever weapons they want isn't ultimately a good thing for their country. For them, it may be a majority thing. All countries aren't the USA. But making monumental decisions like this, usually require some thought and discussion, and planning, none of which should be done in haste due to recent horrible events. Judgement isn't clear during an event like that. And it's always easier to get the toothpaste out. Putting it back in, not so much.

Just saying your 2nd amendment is now directly being threatened- the Virginia attorney general has just declared second amendment sanctuary cities have,'no force of law'.

Considering Trumps trials and tribulations some of us regard your nation as becoming lawless,so good luck I haven't seen any Supreme court challenges to uphold your constitution as yet and Im not holding my breath for it either..
