Can't spend too much time in absolutes when dealing with this type of science, much of it is still a mystery. I don't know if time travel is possible or not, but i am sure it was once said as fact that man, being heavier than a bird, cannot fly.

Just as a topic of discussion, I have something here that might interest you:

The Absolute Density of the Universe
A commonly ignored obsticle to time travel is the simple fact that the universe can only hold so much matter. This is commonly referred to as "the bucket factor." This is The Bucket Factor according to Dr. VonSchnelling.

Imagine that the universe is a bucket. This bucket is full of water to the brim. Suppose now that a time traveller from the future arrives in this universe. Pretend that your fist is the traveller. Plunge your fist into the bucket. Water spills from the bucket. You have filled the universe with more mass that it can support. That is not good.

Here are some theories of time travel that Time Travel Institute has written:

Theory A - Fate (Circular Causation) - Travel back in time to save someone's life only to discover that it can not be avoided, or worse yet, you were in fact the cause of the person's death in the first place. This is amongst the most plausible theories.

Theory B - Alternate Universe (Titor's theory) - Travel back in time to save someone's life, succeed, return to your time to discover that nothing has changed... you've only changed the timeline of an alternate quantum reality. This theory is also amongst the most plausible.

Theory C - Success - Theory C - Success - Travel back in time to kill your great-grandfather and succeed. This theory is very unlikely since if you were to successfully kill your great-grandfather, you would inevitably never be born, and therefore never go back in time to kill your great-grandfather. Thus the paradox and the implausibility.

Theory D - Observer Effect - Travel back in time to alter history and succeed, but the only persons capable of differentiating between the reality left behind and the new reality are those directly associated with the time travel... the time traveller. The extent of the paradox rests in how the time traveller is affected. Existing "out of time", he may not be affected by whatever changes he inflicts on the timeline, thus the time traveller himself becomes a stranger in this "new" present. He may, in fact, go back in time, kill his great-grandfather, and return to the present to discover that there are no records of his own existance.

Pretty good sum-up of theories, but what about theory E- it ain't there anymore?

I'm no physicist, but I've often wondered if time is infinite then for all matter to exist in all times would require infinite matter. Furthermore you potentially run into a problem of displacement- it opens up the question of whether or not "you" ever really move through time at all. Maybe "you" are always stuck in the present because all you've got is right now. All you have to prove that you were here a split second ago is a memory afterall.

So I have to suspect that it is at least possible that a finite amount of matter is traveling through time at varying speeds, becoming spread out over various points in time as it decelerates, but generally moving forward. Therefore it is possible that if you traveled back in time, you'd find yourself in a vacuum, almost completely devoid of matter, because everything has already moved forward from where it previously was.

Recently, I've been checking out the predictions of a few popular psychics. I was somewhat stunned to see that Titor's prediction of war in 2005 has correlated with the predictions of popular psychics. This is not a confirmation of an imminent civil war in 2005. But it is damn interesting…

While not exactly a Civil War, Titor claimed that a World War would eventually occur and that we will only realize this when it is far too late.

Terrorist attack, this does not rule out a domestic terrorist attack which could be implicated in an American Civil War. Note, John Hogue states 'Major Events that will define the next 36 years of Human History'. From those who have read up upon the 'Titor-like future' then you will agree that

1.) Something extreme happened
2.) It defined human history as we know it

Now Titor claims that he lives in 2036, if in 2008 there is an event that changes the next 36 years of history, then this change will ultimately begin in 2008 and end in 2044. All that we know of Titor claims is bound by the year 2036. We do not know what comes in the next 8 years. However we do know that in the year 2036, life is drastically different that what we are accustomed to.

'2004 - 2008 It will be confirmed that we have reached peak oil production. This means that World War III is close.'

since we are 100 pages into this thread, I thought I'd loop us all the way back to the beginning. It seems obvious to me there is no doubt about the dates. Even though titor clearly posted 2004, we all gave him all the way through 2005 for his war. no dice. If you have a need to believe, you can give him more time, but if 2005 passing without 12 waco incidents doesn't wake you up to the hoax, maybe the torino olympics will.

He chickened out.

As you can see in his last few posts...he tries to push it back to 2008, yet for most of the year he was insistant that it was this year. I mean, his insisting that it was supposed to be this year is one of the reasons why this thread is 100 pages long. Why change it now Roth?

Well 2005 is almost over and obviously nothing has happened... which is a good thing, but there is still ten more hours left. So lets not give up on titor just yet... not till the last second of the year.

He's got 7 hours left now. I have yet to see any fighting.

Although he won't be completely left behind tomorrow...Titor followers will insist that, since he's from an "alternate timeline," things will happen differently here. We might keep hearing about him for a couple more years. Doesn't that just brighten up your New Year?

I am curious if any of you have actually read the supposed prophecies of John Titor. He claimed that a civil war would begin in 2004, but it wouldn't be obvious to everyone until 2008- when everyone will realize that the world they thought they were living in has changed.

There is no "Pushing back" of the date by anyone. As it stands, I feel that the U.S. was torn in two by the 2004 election outcomes. A fissure had already started back in 2000.

Nowadays, I listen to the radio, or occassionally watch television, and I hear two cacophonous voices... both completely out of their minds. The extremes seek to tear the nation in two... and there are quite a few fools willing to tow the party line for no other reason than loyalty to a party.

The level of irrational behavior and attitudes has been exacerbated since President G.W. Bush was elected. Do I think that John Titor is right? I can't really say. What I can say is I don't think he was entirely wrong. Is he a prophet? A timetraveller? I don't know, and because I don't, I will abstain from criticism of his comments.

December, 2008 is the final date for all of this to be settled... because Titor said that everyone would find it obvious they were involved in a civil war at that point. If that doesn't happen, then and only then can you consider him to have been a hoax.

It isn't a matter of wanting there to be some sort of end to the strange civilization we've developed, nor is it a matter of being gullible or easily tricked. It is a matter of being aware of the society you exist in, it is not about Titor or what he said, it is about US. It is about we as a people, the United States of America... and what happens to us. It is about responsibility for ourselves, our actions.

Somewhere there needs to be a balance... america is torn in two and we need to find a common ground again or the fanatics on either side will tear us all apart.

Wether he was a hoax or not hasn't he taught us that we must be prepared for what the futire holds for us? I mean his claims of civil war etc...may have striked fear in a few but it also shows that we need to be ready for whatever may happen. Personally I do believe something will happen in the very near future.
