Today on a facebook page a local lady that helps people in need posted a bunch of needs/wants for some families.
Two of the three families are expecting a baby in addition to many other children. They have zero money, zero anything.
How on earth is this ok? In this day and age, birth control is everywhere, and it's free. I'd like to say it's rare, but it isn't.
Every day there are requests like this. Another friend asking for fresh fruits for people. Many working folks can't afford fresh fruit for their
own children...

I'm not some kind of cruel person. I know the desire for a women to have a child. I just don't think that their desire overrides
the responsibility of having one. Then that burden falls on everyone else. It falls on people that have been responsible their entire lives.

I agree. Screw these incompetent fools who have kids with no support and then ask for handouts.

Passing on one's genes to another generation is a biological imperative. God/MotherNature doesn't care if you do it by being superior or if you do it by scamming your way through. Success is what counts.

On the other hand, you don't have any special obligation to help another being pass his/her genes on.

I once saw a guy stand out in the parking lot of a shopping center in a decent neighborhood from early in the morning to sundown...so basically while I worked an entire day he likely camped out in that spot asking for handouts for his baby on the way..

I don't understand why he spent a full day asking for handouts instead of dropping off applications every damn place he could.

On the other hand...

I worked with a guy who (quick exposition: we go into peoples houses and tips are nice when we get em) went into every customer's house and gave this little speech about how he has a baby on the way and every little bit helps blah blah blah.

I wanted to punch his lying face in so hard when he told us this is what he does like it was something to be proud of.

ahem

On-topic: They have the right, unless we want to fall into eugenics over America 2.0. I do think welfare and social assistance needs MAJOR overhaul though.

I understand your sentiment...but if we had a society of producers, rather than useless consumers...this wouldnt be an issue.

A person that doesn't have the means to support a child yet has one, is both poor and an idiot.

Because a portion of American citizens are now quite fine with being dependent on either their government or other people to survive.

In fact, they feel it is their right.

Self-sufficiency is not only not taught anymore, it's considered old-fashioned.

And personal responsibility... pphhttt... there is always some boogie man holding them down.

Which is why socialism is also becoming popular.

Not too long ago in Texas, you didn't receive food stamps as a woman with kids unless you also got a birth control implant.

That should be a Federal law.

Should we regulate who can have children or how many?

When people stop having children down to poverty the world really is in trouble.

Consider the growing divide amongst those that have and those that don't.

I mean just consider the implications!

It won't matter once the mini ice age sets in. People will be more worried about things like having enough food to feed their families than what the latest headline news has to say about global warming.

Sometimes I feel blessed to be manic-depressive or whatever I am..

Yeah, it's nice to sit on my ass playing video games and eating chicken wings 18 hours a day sometimes, but I feel so empty if I don't get out and get some serious sheet done a couple of times a week!

There is definitely satisfaction from putting in a hard day's work, taking home YOUR income and affording your own games and wings.

I may not be able to survive Revenant style, but I'll damn well give it my best shot if it ever came down to it!

its a tough question. I have very close personal experience with such, a mentally ill family member, diagnosed with a strange psychosis, ..but their kid is now floating around the family and state foster care, and the kid is not ok, obviously delayed, obviously slow, nothing we have ever attempted as a family has ever worked,

countless loving family meetings and plans....

no help, no social program for our issue, 15 years on now. we have tried everything possible... police just get tired of showing up at their place, its beyond drugs and such, it sucks.

everyone says "just have them arrested, or committed to insane asylum."
but it doesn't work like that.

It is a reality that incompetent humans end up having kids.

A fact.

and there is not much any of us can do about it.

nothing you or I can do about it.

its life.

Sorta the impression I got. Need more laws, more regulation, hell maybe even a whole government agency to monitor unsanctioned pregnancy!

Now people get that same satisfaction from your money too!

Yeah, keep talking like you answer to no one... truth be told though, every single one of us are brown nosing someone to get a little food in our mouths.

Don't matter if your Trump himself or scrubbing toilet seats for a living... Everyone relies on someone!
