It looks to me that the more "left-leaning" folks want to side with China and it's regime instead of the US of A.

Now I might be wrong, but I never have been before, so there is that.

That's the beauty of it.

We have real world treasonous fools and they laugh and are gleeful about it.

People see this, we are citizens and we support the American Governemt.

How far we have fallen from society.

As for Trump, GOOD FOR HIM.

Hell yeah, stick it to the chinese and keep exploding leftist brains, this is BEAUTIFUL.

Remember, it only hurts American consumers who LIKE CHEAP CRAP.

Leftist hate America, it's that simple.

I know I have told this story before on ATS, but I will tell it again..
when my husband was driving truck he delivered a load of apple juice concentrate to a major juice manufacturer that is in NY. He asked the person why they were bringing it in from china when there were so many apple orchards all through out the area. the answer was there was some kind of advantage as far as taxes if a part of their manufacturing process was done overseas...years later, when we moved back to our home town, the major orchard was reduced by half and half of those trees were left untended really, the only sales they were getting was from their little stand they had on the orchard.
just how many years do you think it's gonna take to restore that orchard to what is was?? or course they can't do that now since they sold much of the land to what became a brewery, which then was shut down.
the same goes for the textile industry where I am at now, only, they got hit badly back in the 70's by the trade with I think it was japan. it will take decades to revive it.
it's not so much taking sides against the usa as it is just looking at the reality of things. it's like crying to preserve an old colonial house that has been neglected for years upon years, the roof is caved in, the foundation is crap, and the termites are what is holding the thing together as much as it is holding together...
the time to worry about our manufacturers has long since passed...

The American consumer is addicted to cheap crap.

There was an article today regarding Amazon and how people buying cheap stuff (much of it from China) are finding out the hard way that cheap is not always the best.... fake and poorly made products.

I try to avoid buying Chinese junk when I can since culturally, they don't care about putting lead and other crap in products to make a buck on some unsuspecting dupe. The Chinese culture is simply not the same when it comes to honesty. The American consumer better wake up.

You saving 50 cents on a pair of cheap socks may cost your neighbor his job today. Tomorrow, it will be YOUR job when someone else figures out they can sell something cheaper by moving YOUR job overseas.

I am not saying we should always over pay for stuff, but I try to support local businesses when I can.

Companies only respond to MONEY. PERIOD. If people wake up and demand Apple or whoever make stuff locally and actually stop buying the products, then their boards will listen and bring those jobs back home.

China will beg to sells us magnets and "rare earth metals" if every American company listened to Trump.

So dictatorship? do as I say, no other way is tolerated? No freedom to choose what is best for each individual or each business

Depends - if Chinese trade practices are a national security issue then Trump does actually have the power to act.
Given the theft of IP, documented spying and confidential data theft, he'd have a case that he needs to act on national security grounds.

Those vast majority of those "jobs" will be gone with the oncoming automation revolution. Sure some jobs will be available for people programming and maintaining the robots but for the most part the rich will get richer thanks to plummeting labor costs.

So give it all to china? lol.

Companies move manufacturing overseas because the labor is cheap and other regulations, etc are low. It is a natural tendency for a corporation to make this decision because it leads to higher profits for shareholders.

While it may lead to lower prices, the downside is that it is taking jobs away from the American middle class. This is why everyone is so hard up to go to college and get in debt to their eye balls. It used to be if you could just show up on time, follow directions, you could earn a decent living driving bolts.

The American consumer has to decide if they want cheaper prices or jobs.

I don't mind paying a little more for a quality product that keeps my neighbors employed. The race to the bottom never ends well in the long term.

Perfectly well explained.

He can lead by example and have his hats and campaign material made in the USA.

Pretty sure it won't be happening.

Trump days in office: 945

Trump days golfing: 211

Do you get close to 3 months off a year?

He would have way more time off than that if he hadn't been so damn patriotic and decided to save America.

But you said you dont need them.

Obviously, you do require them to exist and operate overseas in the manner that they do.

Automation will undoubtedly bring about mass unemployment, China or no China.

Trumps there to facilitate the corporations and the rich, he does not give a rat's arse about the American middle class.

What the hell would he even know about being middle-class ffs being born with a silver spoon stuck where the sun don't shine?

The American consumer wants the best product at the cheapest cost, simple supply and demand, something Trump and his ilk should understand in spades.

You don't need it. We buy a lot of stuff because it is cheap and we can. We don't NEED most of it.

I try to buy quality made products. I rather spend a little more on something that will last versus junk made by slave labor in China.

Trump can relate to the middle class. Remember, he ran construction sites. He had to know how to deal with construction workers, unions, etc.

It only costs a few extra pennies to get that label sewn on in China. I make sure it's on all the crap I sell to gullible right wingers.

Nice of you to lie and screw your fellow Americans. You must be one of those greedy business owners people often mention as a problem in our country.

Seriously folks, the OP and this thread is extremely ignorant.

Here, we have radical leftist JOYFUL and Supportive of the CCP regime that they are willingly to border on treasonous views to get in their pitiful cheap shots at our POTUS, its disgusting.

Though, are we honestly surprised? Lol, I mean, leftist are throwing around words they have little understanding of and views as ignorant as they come, all from their echo chambers.

Truth is, we have a POTUS who is challenging the status quo, Leftist HATE AMERICA, so is it ever any surprise to see threads and responses of this nature??

Nope.

Keep on fighting Trump!

I doubt that. He and Ivanka got 38 Chinese trademarks since he's been president. Ivanka's stuff is still made in China.
