Trump orders American companies leave China

He went full dictator. And everyone knows you don't go full dictator.

“We don’t need China and, frankly, would be far better off without them. The vast amounts of money made and stolen by China from the United States, year after year, for decades, will and must STOP,” Trump tweeted.

“Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China, including bringing your companies HOME and making your products in the USA.”

Forget free markets, forget private companies making their own decisions without government control, States deciding how to regulate and manage themselves. Big government everywhere you look. Trump's hand in everything.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce rebuffed Trump’s call, urging “continued, constructive engagement” so that the world’s two largest economies could quickly reach a trade deal.

“Time is of the essence. We do not want to see a further deterioration of US-China relations,” Myron Brilliant, executive vice president and head of the business group’s international affairs, said in a statement.

China on Friday said it would impose retaliatory tariffs on $75 billion of U.S. goods, targeting crude oil for the first time and renewing punitive duties on American-made autos.

So what do the supporters of free trade and open markets believe? Should a president order private companies how to operate? Is there any room for free market capitalism in a Trump era?

Although, the irony will be that the white flag you want waving is probably made in China.

So it's ok to demand entire industries have their business models usurped by some new green deal for the feels, but demanding companies seek alternatives to a demonstrably hostile, manipulative, and exploitative host country is going too far?? It is literally a request to bring production home, where it will benefit this nations citizens.

I mean, if your ok with taxing the rich on the sole basis of being rich, I cannot fathom how you see this demand as an issue. I hope POTUS Trump is honored with an Andrew Jackson moment sooner than later and strikes one of his enemies down in a duel to the death.

If you got used to reading articles before replying you'd know that the article even writes about that:

That is basically making fun of Trump while keeping it professional. We all know his words mean nothing, but that does not stop him trying to be dictatorial.

Nobody taking him seriously does not mean he's not trying to be one.

China are commerce cheats. They are also guilty of subjecting their workers to low wages and horrible working conditions.

Leftists complain about corporations and their thirst for maximising profit above all else and then as soon as Trump tries to take them on and get them to forego cheap labour options , all of a sudden they're on the side of the corporations.

For what it's worth, I think Trump is wrong to try and directly control the decisions of private companies, but leftists bleating about it are just showing their hypocrisy once again.
