It's not access, I think living in Britain you understand the access to knives, broken glasses, acid, vehicles on bridges, etc.... People have access to deadly weapons and no matter what if they want to hurt someone they will.

It obviously is about access. Knives, glasses etc are not generally as effective tools of slaughter as semi automatic firearms. We are trying to do something about knives but it's a difficult problem to crack. You can't ban vehicles, obviously.

Meanwhile, our firearms laws are generally doing the job of not making it easy for our own nutters to get access to them. Seems to me, the more people you have running around with firearms the more likely some of them are going to do this sort of thing. It's just a statistical probability.

So if we are going to start quoting trump can we bring in all of his previous comments for analysis and not have you NOT spin them? You can't have this both ways.

As soon as someone starts saying "common sense" I hear: "what I think is the solution and anyone who does not agree has no sense."

Blaming society and then claiming "common sense gun control" is the solution says to me you don't understand the sociological issues at play nor the ramifications of touching other person's liberties to address it.

"Common sense gun control" doesn't just infringe on 2nd amendment but also the 1st and 4th.

Never has stripping the Liberties or Rights from another human solved any problem.

And yes, people were glamorized years ago for things like this. Bonnie and Clyde, Jesse James, John Dillenger, etc...

This problem is not guns and it isn't speech.

Many pages back I discussed kids being raised today differently than in past generations. I think that it a lot of the problems but it is only a hypothesis for future gens; we still have to figure out how to deal with this generation.

I lived in England before Dunblane. I lived in England after Dunblane. The UK clearly didn't figure out that the problem isn't guns. The problems is social.

The UK has been working on knife problems for decades and it is still a huge problem. Again it's a social problem not a knife access problem.

Have you ever lived in the US?

Do you know how many guns are in the US? Do you know how many are involved in a mass shooting? No, it isn't about guns.

Why can't you ban vehicles? Or at least make it more difficult to get one? You don't even have a Constitutional Law that protects them.

The solution to this problem simply is not as simple as you think.

Pretty obvious reasons, really. Anyway, apples and oranges, old chap.

Constitutional law? What, the right to have a vehicle?

I was being sarcastic; it doesn't translate well in text.

I was saying banning vehicles in the UK or USmwould be far simpler than almost any level of infringement of gun ownership in the US because Amending the Constitution is extremely difficult and unlikely in this case.

Since you have the absolute answer to this question and ignore other opinions please do tell why this isn't such an issue in other societies without guns.

Trump evolve? He is making stuff up as he goes. He hasn't evolved to anything in office other than pandering to his clueless followers to a point where everyone can spin stuff as well as Kelly Anne. You realize one of the biggest issues people have with Trump is that his supporters will NEVER EVER admit fault with anything and blame everything on the left. I'll give Trump credit, when he said he could shoot someone on the street and not lose a voter from his base he was 100% correct.

Funny you asked about quotes, then completely dismissed that just a quickly.
Thanks for your reply.

Also did you read the manifesto? What about his section on gear? Are you going to tell me if he had no guns, that section would be .. Should I steal a humvee vs a yukon? Should I use a ginsu versus a cutco? This guy was obsessed with AK vs AR. Frag's versus tumblers..

Cmon man.

May I ask how many other countries you have lived in?

Where did I say I have the absolute answer?

Not every country is culturally identical to the US so you can't roll in and claim this doesn't happen in X country so let's do this in the US.

Many other countries have huge problems that the US doesn't have, does that mean the US is doing something that the other country isn't and they should start doing it like the US?

For example:. I was discussing the UK with another poster. The UK has a huge problem with stabbing murders and knife fights. You honestly, can not even side eye someone in certain areas, and I don't mean South London or Middleborough either but in respectable areas of a city, without the very real likelihood of someone pulling a knife on you.

This is a cultural problem. This is a societal problem that has been decades in the making in the UK.

Same goes for the US. We have been doing something different with our children in the last two generations that were not done with any previous generation that has made them lack empathy and be unable to cope with failures and disappointment.

Now, IMO we should be figuring out what is different not what we can take from everyone else just in case little Johnny ASBO has a bad day an decides to use some as a weapon.

I read it and now you are claiming if he decided to use something other than a gun you would be okay with banning that item?

His obsession is on him and has nothing to do with anyone else owning any item he may have used or obsessed over.

Death count is up to 30, another man died in the hospital of his wounds. I wonder if the "white supremacist " are keeping score? If they are...

Death toll just increased to 31.
