Shooting was as at Walmart, which is next to Cielo Vista Mall.

There is a video from inside Walmart posted on the site. The Walmart employee did a good job of being calm and instructing the people on how to evacuate.

'multiple shooters' give it an hour there will be one lone wolf shooter with a planted trump hat (dead) with 12 dead 6 injured
and the other gunman will be swept under the rug and no where to be found... give it an hour or two for them to get there stories straight.. exchange trump supporter with democrat supporter or islamic terrorist rinse wash repeat.. dems cry for more gun control

So they may have just been evacuating the mall as a precaution? I haven't seen anything about victims at the mall, just the initial reports of a shooting I saw referenced the mall rather than the Wal Mart.

My guess is an employee. I work at Walmart, and we just had our quarterly active shooter training drop yesterday.

I'm not going to post but video is all over the place and it seems from looking there are fatalities ,unfortunately.

I hope they get these people quick.

It's just a 5 or so minute video we all have to watch every 3 months. But it could trigger a psychotic employee to go over the edge.

I think it was 3 days ago someone got fired in Tennessee and came back to murder 2 managers. Walmart had a rough week.

UPDATE: 12:46 p.m. El Paso Mayor Dee Margo confirms to KTSM that there are multiple fatalities involved in today’s shooting at Walmart. Margo says that three suspects believed to be involved were taken into custody. El Paso Police are expected to give a press conference within the hour.

You can't really identify the gun from the sound unless it's a really particular niche weapon. The same gun can sound different being shot in slightly different locations. That's one thing that leads to some of the "2nd shooter" theories is people that don't understand this. It would really help if people got familiar with guns before they tried to comment on gun matters, but who am I kidding?

Wait, I thought the authorities always cover up the fact that other people were involved and it's always a lone wolf?

Three in custody doesn't necessarily mean three were involved, but that would be odd unless it was a planned terror type attack.

That's what the police are saying...and he also said they have tactical crews sweeping the area. They are asking that people NOT come to the mall. I'm sure they've got a perimeter set up and are turning people away from the area.

But if they are still sweeping the area with SWAT teams it sounds like they are making sure there are no more threats.

Multiple fatalities at multiple scenes, at the Walmart and inside the mall, El Paso police say. 3 people in custody, may or may not be related to the crime.


Now, they're saying 1 person in custody. El Paso is open carry, and many people pulled out their own guns when they first heard the shots ringing out. Very hard for police, who are also confiscating those people's guns.

Very sad that some people are capable of doing these things.

Folks it appears we have to practice situational awareness in our own damn towns and cities. Here is some advice: when out and about put your cell phone in your pocket or purse, pay attention. Some people are oblivious as to what is about to transpire. Look for odd balls and people or situations that just don't fit in. Please always stay aware of your surroundings. If you see someone running, take cover or run like hell. A hot situation like this is no time to be curious. This is the world we live in and it is a dangerous world at that.
