Sparing a thought for Bally, who may be battling nature on a nasty level at the moment.

Hoping desperately for decent rain and a cessation of these strong winds.

Incidentally a helicopter was lost to fierce seas in strong winds last night just off our beach. 5 people lost their lives.

Life is precious. Look out for one another.

Yes tragic about that helicopter. Thanks for your thoughts all. Firebombing going on presently with many brigades heading to the front and people in the area heading away. Constant drone of aircraft.

Still safe here. Winds are up again. Smoke all around. Fire front is still aways from us but we have an evac plan. No sign of rain this way for weeks. Organizing a tank to put on the trailer. We're going to an easy access site near the river (30 min drive)and fill the tank a couple of times transferring water into the house tank and then utilize the tank as a fire fighting resource around the house if needs be.

It's good to post this news here in 'The Shed' where there is plenty of support.

Thank you Syx. Not retreating at present.

My house is quite unique and I don't think I could rebuild it if I tried at my age. So, I'll do my best to save it if it comes to that.

Not panicking yet. Won't panic anyway. Have a plan.

Mother nature is a strong force. So sad that people have to face so many challenges.

I will stay, everyone else and the animals will be out if it comes to that. I must get a pic of the smoke all around. Have to wait until 'True Love' comes home from work.

P.S. I must make mention of my neighbor Al at this juncture. (Suffering from a rather nasty dog bite wound to his leg and using a walking stick - 24 stitches) We're sitting here presently having a drink. Me = port. Al = Beer. Al saying, "I don't care, I got yer back Steve".

Dammit! My name is out there! Slipped up after drinking with Al.

Anyways, 'True Love' is my 'Lucky Wife' (Aboriginal term).

Seems, no matter where we are, how close or apart, if we spy each other, we smile, cock our heads sideways and raise our eyebrows. Whoever wakes up first makes a coffee for the other and rolls that extra smoke.

Nothin like a 'True Love'.
