But the children did in fact not have soap, toothbrushes and blankets?

The world took notice! We do not care about childish games of “he said she said” - that was/ is STILL an act of mishandling children!

CPS would take them away from every family where the children would be as mistreated as them!

Yep - all because Democrats refused to firstly recognise the crisis at the border and then to actually fund the people who need to deal with the crisis. As usual Democrats make a mess and blame others for not cleaning it up fast enough.

The OP's broader point - and valid - is that idiots on theleft lied again. They politicised and used the very people they claim to love but refuse to help, whilst focusing, as usual, on how many headlines they could write to spread propaganda.

It's saddening to know there are so many complete morons out there who actually believe Trump's administration was arguing that the children didn;t need toothbrushes.

Ya, let's throw out a few more treaties and international agreements, just in case we might have a few allies out there who haven't decided we ain't worth the time of day.
It's those treaties and some laws that prevent us from doing what you are suggesting.
Why do you think I said sneak them over the border into Mexico in the darkness of night for? Its It's something that can't be legally done without changing the laws and to change the laws would be breaking treaties, and breaking the treaties would mean losing our standing internationally.
And quite frankly, I really don't see how we can complain too much after all it seems Europe has gotten the brunt from the mess we made in the middle east to deal with.

When I go on a trip somewhere, I always take my blanket and toothbrush, soap and necessities with me. Don't you? Why wouldn't they already have one with them?

Bloody cartels always robbing me of my toiletries and other gear when I hike through Mexico..

Doesn't have anything to do with treaties if they are never allowed to step foot in our country. It would be an issue between Mexico and the countries these illegals are coming from.

Europe is just as much as part of the ME wars as we are. Maybe you have a short memory, but just recently Trump said he was gonna completely withdraw troops from the ME and the European leaders had a conniption fit.

Like I said, I am willing to entertain the idea that the press is making it out to be worse than it is. But I don't care how short term the care is, a 7 or 8 year old should never have the are of an infant or toddler dumped on them for any length of time. And I'm not sure if the lawyer was claiming the same thing as you are and your friends on this thread sure don't seem to be. They seem to be trying to justify it somehow. I would rather they just deny it, like you are.
Or say something like ya, I know know, its problem we need to solve quickly. You know for the sake of our standing on the international stage.

Shall we lay land mines along the border? How do you propose we keep them from stepping foot into the country? And no, a wall is not the answer, at least not short term. That comes with a mess of it's own time consuming issues not the least of which is litigating eminent domain issues with landowners who's families have held that land longer than that land was part of the us.

Build the wall, I don't care if it takes years.

Fix the immigration laws and eliminate loopholes

More funding for ICE

Remove Sanctuary cities

Forbid any social services used to help illegals

You know, all the things Democrats are against.

Basically, give them zero incentive to come here like all the other countries around the world.

Build the wall... do me a favor, do a little research and find out how much money has been actually been appropriated for that wall over the past decades, how much has been allocated ( set aside for the projects, out if our reach if by chance an emergency occurs and we find we could use it to I don't know, buy kids toothbrushes and diaper maybe, and then how much has actually spent on projects completed. I did this and for some reason walked away with the conclusion that there's way more money appropriated and allocated, out of our reach than has been actually been distributed to the contracting firms that are to be doing the work. But then, I am driving into an area that I do not fully understand so I may be wrong.

Fix the immigration laws. Huh?? What?? Ya that couldn't happen when the Republicans had control of both houses. Matter of fact, we went a long time with both parties not seeing any problem at all with them because those immigrants, legal and illegal were desired by the companies who hired them for cheaper wages and used the as a tool to suppress the wages for all if us. Now that they see that those lower wages are bringing a whole mess of unforeseen problems, ya now it time to change the laws. We must do it now, before some poor nine year old drops some poor baby on its head and gets charged with murder!!

Sanctuary cities, ya that's what we need to end those so our local jails jails can be filled by immigrants waiting around for our federal govt to get their crap together. Here we will just let this murderer go free to make room for another one here

Although some states may be providing money to provide food stamps or something to illegal immigrants, pretty sure you need to prove your immigration status when you apply for any federal program. There's programs out there to help refugees and such but you are gonna have CV to show me where illegal immigrants can get on those programs.

Which leaves funding for ice. Which I'm sorry but both the house and the Senate have laws they passed in the last oupke of days. By what I understand the senate Republicans are refusing to work with the house or consider that bill and telling them it has to be the senate bill if there is going to be any funding. The grim reaper in the senate will just send that house bill to join so many of the bills the house has sent over to the senate in the graveyard called mitch's trashcan.
Don't know what to tell you. The government doesn't work like that. People need to compromise, listen to other viewpoints and at least be open that the opposing side might have something to offer.

It wasn't that long ago that some of yous may have been trying to convince me that there was no need to worry about how all those unwanted babies, even the horribly deformed ones, would be taken care of. That women who found themselves unable to care for the children they had because of complication in there pregnancy had nothing to fear. There would be plenty of help.

Exactly, People want every baby born but no one cares what happens to them after that!

Can you imagine being a 5 year old traveling thousands of rough miles from home, new place, wrong language, scared and being ripped from your Family and locked up? They will never be the same.

It's a terrible thing to fight for the lives of children, eh? I can't imagine being a 5 year old and traveling thousands of rough miles to an unfamiliar foreign country because I grew up with parents that love me and cared about my well being. They never would have uprooted me to go somewhere we weren't wanted.

I'd never be desperate enough to risk the lives of my children

You think these Parents are all selfish? Did it ever occur to anyone they felt their kids were in danger by not coming?

How long has the world perceived USA as a land of free and plenty? Misconception of loving Americans wanting their poor and willing to work Families and living a better life for their kids leads many People let alone fear.

Yes I think they're very selfish. I think they're pathetic. I admire the ones who come here the legal way. This isn't 1980 anymore, you can't just come over here and assimilate like they used to do back then because they're bringing crime and drugs and breaking our laws and putting their country's flag above ours. That's not how you sneak into another country.

I thought we hated South Americans and other brown people and were perceived that way. Now we're the land of the free and plenty? One of those is a lie, so which is it, it can't be both. Why are they turning down asylum in Mexico if they're running from their homes? I call bullcrap. .

I agree. I would never risk that with my children. If I ever had to leave this country for some reason, I would do it the right way because I love my kids. The democrats keep telling these people that they're welcome here when the democrats know damn good and well they're not, and what will happen to them when they get here. They're using these people as pawns because these people are coming from a third world country and many don't have the nicer things in life so sometimes they don't know that they'll be apprehended.

If democrats genuinely cared about foreigners coming here and weren't just using them to get pity votes or lie about Conservatives, they wouldn't coax them over here with the offer of "free everything." No. Instead they would be telling them that if they don't come here the legal way, they may be separated from their children and deported. This is all on the democrats.

Yes. And we can start by telling them that if they come here illegally, their kids might be separated from them so make the journey at your own risk. A risk that may include your child dying on way here or once you get here. So tell me, who loves their child so little that they'll risk their child's life?

"So it turns out there are many lines," says Hiroshi Motomura, a law professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, who is writing a book on the immigration system. "There's something certainly questionable in the logic of a system that, on the one hand, says you qualify, but ... you have to wait 20 years."

Wonder why everyone visits So Ca]

In 2016, the 47.3 million visitors to L.A. County spent an all-time high of $21.9 billion in the region, a 6.3% increase in spending compared to 2015, the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board announced Tuesday.

Well it sounds like the house will pass the senate bill, albeit reluctantly. What can they say, they have a weeklong vacation starting in a couple of days. Can't expect them to miss out on that just to hash this out can we?? The house bill had measures in that would have at least tried to put into place some standard as far as acceptable care but no, just give us the money and quit worrying about how the kids are treated.
Ok, but if we hear about kids having babies dumped on them to care for in a couple of months, that will be on the Republicans, and the govt, both federal and state will have lost any moral standing to try to take anyone's children from them except for extreme circumstances like attempted murder.

I don't take seriously, the word of a law professor from LA. That's one of the nastiest, crime ridden cities in America. I'm ok with a year or two wait as opposed to 20 years (I haven't researched to know if that number is accurate). If you're willing to wait to come here legally, that usually means you're an honest person who actually wants to assimilate and proudly represent the American Flag. But I can tell you now, if the wait time is lowered and people start coming here and acting like they are now (replacing our flag with theirs, etc.) then it'll tighten down again.
