However you want to twist it, religious morals trump women's rights because the Bible tells us so.

Sarcasm does not behoove you; neither does bigotry.

TheRedneck

Take it in the manner I intended, which is that religious morals should not trump women's rights - the Bible really does not tell us anything about abortion anyway - so the Bible does not tell us so - only man perceives what man wants to perceive.

I'm curious how many right wing people here think this will actually stop abortion? This doesn't stop abortion, it only stops safe abortion. It will still happen, only now illegally.

It seems the same logic you all use to rail against banning guns is missing here. Funny that.

Of course it'll still happen. It happened before it was legal and it'll happen if it becomes illegal. Did you know dealing drugs was illegal, too? Killing other people? Speeding? Buying guns with a felony record? Funny that.

LOL!!!!

You and Fred are absolutely savage and I love it.

Lol, it's not exactly being savage when it's hard truth. In terms of all federal funds allocated, Alabama seems to have a big issue with paying for things. I deliberately worded it that way instead of going with a specific category because, well, they're one of the moneysuck states. They're also the 5th least productive in GPD, so in terms of economic value, they don't have much. I guess clinging to bibles & beating the ideals into others is about the only way to make living there worth it.

The Governor said she will have no problem meeting the costs of any legal challenges.

Just my thought

So only the responsible women are left hanging around... Nice. Maybe Louisiana's next.

Cute. One of the Top 5 poverty-addled states in the country can afford to throw money at the court costs, but not their people. Effed priorities much?

They learned it from uncle Sam who borrows money for wars while neglecting the house.

the Bible really does not tell us anything about abortion anyway

Which, I take it, is why you despise Christians so...

Yeah, that makes sense. You might have noticed I have not brought up religion at all as an excuse for opposing abortion. Probably not though, since the Bible is perfectly acceptable as an excuse to shut down arguments you don't like. No, you brought up religion all on your own.

You are, incidentally, correct. The Bible does not mention abortion, only that children should be protected. Which is why I don't bring it up... the Bible is not my reasoning for being against abortion in general.

I worded it that way because I try not to label people. I know you aren't a card carrier, but your ideology leans right yea?

Either way, I find it odd that both sides are not only willing to blow vast amounts of money for "their cause" even if the majority of people are against said cause while their base celebrates it.

It's somehow seen as virtuous when a minority idea gets pushed on the rest of the country. There is a middle ground somewhere in all of this... But I don't think this bill and it's intentions will find that.

NOW I'm going to be savage, CriticalStinker.

We're talking about Alabama here. ALABAMA HAS NO WEALTH TO DICK AROUND WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE. That's why you're a dirt poor, religious excuse giving "American Afghanistan" joke to the rest of the country on a consistent basis. To keep things running, your hand is perma-out in front of Uncle Sam. You don't have much room to argue with when it comes to morality.

I know what I mean, and I mean moral convictions. You might want to try reading in the lines instead of between them... that doesn't seem to be your talent. Especially since you seem obsessed with religion. I have known church deacons who don't bring the Bible up out of the blue as much as you have.

As Governor, actually it is her place to do as she sees fit with the money, as long as that is in line with the Alabama Constitution. I support her for having moral convictions. Incidentally, not having moral convictions was why I opposed Bob Bentley.
