I'm not saying he's guaranteed a win, but I will say this much. I am a hispanic male who has always leaned towards the left for most of my life. Next election period he will not only be getting my vote, but if given the chance, I would most definitely shake his hand.

I have never once said that about any president, let alone a republican. To me, that says a lot.

You are not alone. I have an friend of Mexican descent, who was a huge Obama supporter, and hated Trump at first, because of the "abrasive personality" he perceived.

He, as an ex marine who loves his country, has now realized that actions are more important than perception, and will be gritting his teeth while voting for Trump.

Did you hear, they have a cure for TDS now?

It's called a labotomy.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

The worse thing the Democrats could do is have CNN and MSNBC annotate their 2020 presidential candidate. So far the Democrats drift leftwards and towards the Green New Deal (details for which are sometimes murky) does run the risk of gifting Trump his re-election bid. If Democratic primary voters opt for ideological purity , they will deluded themselves into thinking they have the winning ticket. The politically smart move for Democratic primary voters is to select the candidate most likely to defeat Trump.

Also in repeating the mistake of the 2016 Republican field, the Democrats will have a crowded field, and barring a unexpected twist too many D to Z grade grade candidates are or will be in the hunt. It is far to early to make a call on the candidates, but so far I have made two observations. Firstly, Beto O'Rourke is a media darling, this suggests they are crowning him the 2020 election. Ideological differences aside, Pete Buttigieg is a promising candidate. Although I wish to stress great candidates don't always make for great presidents.

Buttigieg may look to boost his national profile with 2024 and 2020, or a running for a senate seat in mind.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

He also couldn't win 2016. Your claim about his supporters hating him is a lie, stop watching fake news.

In March, 82% of those who reported voting for Trump – and whom researchers were able to verify through voting records as having voted in 2016 – said they felt “warmly” toward Trump, with 62% saying they had “very warm” feelings toward him.

Let's start with the most absurd....a guaranteed living wage.

There are almost 248,000,000 in the U.S. over the age of 18.
Let's say everyone who are considered adults ( 18 and over ) gets $1000 per month for that living wage.

I'll leave the math up to you, along with coming up with a plan to raise that amount of money every month.

But Trump has a more serious problem - Yes, he is a good showman, but he is lousy politician

I would rather have a lousy politician who tells the truth most of the time, always when it's important, than a great politician that always lies to me, except when the truth fits its narrative.

Trump wins :-)

Cheers - Dave

Anyone attempting to call the race now are just trying to push their hopes and dreams on potential voters. Just as the news media and pundits had the 2016 election called (98% chance for Hillary to win) .... even though they knew better.
The real polls were pointing to a very close race and they were not shown to the public.

Actually the poll that historically is the most accurate had Trump winning.

Some ppl think tact, and political correctness is a good thing, and it can be in some situations, but it's highly overrated in actually getting things accomplished.

That's one of the main reasons Trump was elected. Sometime a leader has to kick some a$$.

Yes, but it was viewed as an anomaly by the MSM.
You’ve seen the mashup videos of all the talking heads, pundits and celebrities repeatedly saying that Trump had no chance against Hillary.

I disagree that it was viewed as an anomoly. They knew it wasn't, and tried to discourage voters from showing up, by promoting the idea that voting for Trump was a waste of time.

They were all kissing Trump's butt whenbthey thought he was disrupting, and, as they saw it, destroying the Republican party when he was taking a wrecking ball to other candidates during the primaries.

The instant he secured the nomination, they were hell bent on destroying him.

Funny how some ppl have selective memories.

Easy. Everyone gets $1000 a month and has to pay $2500 a month in taxes, which can fund college for all. Now Universal Healthcare is a little tricky so a VAT of 25% on all purchases might be a good starting point.

This may require labor camps for debtors prisons for those unable to afford living three grand in the hole each month so we will have to reinstate the Civilian Conservation Corps and expand eligibility to serve in the new CCC to something like birth-death.

Then we can live in a free society without embracing total Socialism. Just complete Progressive Feudalism, otherwise known as slavery.

Simple.

So...Trump is responsible for the ideology of the entire Democratic Party? That’s funny!

The buildup of that began long before his Presidency.

Lol

He's not, in any way, responsible for it, but he has forced them to show their hand.

Kudos to Trump
