But can the Liberals go so far left that they alienate everyone? - Probably not.

I am no longer sure of what goals the Democrats have for the long run - Do they seriously believe Americans will accept Socialism?

I believe many Liberal causes have merit - Universal health care for everywhere is standard in the other major nations of the World - England, Canada, etc. Why do Republicans resist it so much? - A good education, including college, is a no brainer for all - And a guaranteed income to prevent
systemic poverty would be more than nice.

You can stand for many Liberal causes without becoming a Socialist - In this country money talks not political BS and Socialism often turns into
political BS.

But Trump has a more serious problem - Yes, he is a good showman, but he is lousy politician - He started off by alienating a good part of
the Republican Party to win the nomination for President - And now as President he has made more enemies out of people who supported him
than probably any American President ever - He will not win a second term - At this point he would have trouble winning the 2020 election
against Joseph Stalin - Let alone left wing Democrats.

And this is the danger we are all facing - Trump, more than anyone else in recent history, has pushed the Democratic party further left than
it has eve been.

Hopefully reasonable Democrats will not fall foir the trap - And hopefully they will nominate a candidate who is reasonable
- A true 'deal maker' - for you see that was the hope we all had for Donald Trump - But he has failed.

President Trump is a "Statesman" and not a Washington DC politician.
Although I really don't think he should run for President again , but seems like he stated he will. He should enjoy being "King of the Hill" for once in his life. He climb the mountain and reached it, few Presidents have ever done that even with the peoples support.

Oh yea of little faith, the President connects well with his base. Every time the Democrats come out with another crazy rant about one of these key causes, gun confiscation, live abortion, open borders, or socialism, the President picks up huge support.

I think the only thing to stop Donald Trump from another win would be his decision not to run. Frankly that’s what I fear the most. A last thought, as a past Democratic voter, I am proudly a Deplorable.

Not really my opinios - This from Fox and two of Trumps ardent supporters:

Are President Trump's worst enemies inside the White House?

And how many people who Turmp hired for Cabinet posts, etc. has he fired so far?
Michael Cohen never made it that far - I remember when Trump said his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen was a
'good man', and Michael said he would 'take a bulit for the Pres. - What happened? - Now they hate each other.

Paul Manafort another Trump supprter going to jail - Heck it's starting to look like the 'Boss Tweed' ring of the past
- A vast left wing conspiracy? - Or a group of felons who are getting caught?

What was that old saying? - Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are.

With Trump apparently friends are easily expendable - Like I say he can't win in 2020.

And also like I say - Trump is a great showman, but a lousy politician.

Maybe if he had taken heed to this advice:

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. This has often been attributed to Sun Tzu and sometimes to Petrarch. It comes most directly from a line spoken by Michael Corleone in The Godfather Part II (1974), written by Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola: My father taught me many things here.

Then maybe, maybe he could have won again.

The amount of fake Democrat pre candidates tells you what they plan to do.

Endorsements all the way to one of them that wouldn't make it by himself.

They don't have a real leader.

“good publicity is preferable to bad, but from a bottom-line perspective, bad publicity is sometimes better than no publicity at all. Controversy, in short, sells.”
― Donald J. Trump, Trump: The Art of the Deal

This is from five psychological traits Donald Trump has mastered . (2015)

#3

Be polarizing.
Did you know that Howard Stern is worth somewhere north of $500 million? Do you know how he made that money? By pissing lots of people off. Advertisers pay based on the number of viewers or listeners for a show, and Stern learned early on that the people who hated him actually listened to his show more than his fans.

Trump is no stranger to show business, and he understands this principle well. If you try to please everyone, you please no one. But if you try to please a specific group of people, you will absolutely make others angry, and that can be surprisingly good for business.

Takeaway: Taking a stance that will make some people angry is great -- it gets you more attention, more press coverage and more fans (or in Trump's case, voters).

www.entrepreneur.com...

The current strategy is the same successful strategy Trump used in 2016 . When the liberal media worked itself into a frenzy and alienated some of its base . While trumps base only grew stronger .

From 2017 till 2019 the mainstream media had chum to throw in the water . They scraped out the last bit of their smelly bucket a week ago . Now their base is realizing they been lied to by everyone for two years . Rachel Maddow‘s ratings dropped 29% Sean Hannity ratings climbed 33% in the 18 to 45 age group .

Both MSNBC and CNN’s ratings dropped overall while Fox’s climbed .

The media will never understand what he’s doing to them .

You could literally put a guy in the chair on CNN all day.

When they say Trump lied! He could say “he did it to pi** you off“ .

Trump exaggerated the unemployment figures!! “he did it to pi** you off “.

Trump insulted a great senator!!!! “ he did it to pi** you off “

Trump is mean !!!! “ he dose it to pi** you off “

And they still wouldn’t get it ! 🤦‍♂️

The liberal media is going to cry it’s self out. The 2020 election‘s are going to be a cakewalk .

The 3 paragraphs i quoted are really funny.
OP, I don't know if you'll understand why they are funny, so I'd just say that your 'liberal causes' are actually radical left ideologies.

Just for the record, 'universal healthcare' is a nonsense term. You see, you could have 'universally SNIP healthcare' and it would be universal healthcare - just like in the UK. What is needed is quality healthcare at affordable prices with a range of options for all. That is far away from a statist implementation of garbage.

College education for all??? Hell, no. Totally unnecessary in any society. We should be working towards college for less people. The vast majority of college courses are garbage. Utter SNIP that offer almost zero preparation for any meaningful contribution to society. What we need is less college and far more opportunities for apprentiships and vocational training. You want to go to Uni to take a science degree - bravo - go for it. Much respect. You want to go to uni to learn Business Studies? Get lost you lazy bum. Get a job and learn properly. I won't even get into the Puppetry Design & Performance degree!

Guaranteed Income? LMFAO. There is only one way to get close to a gauaranteed income - get off your ass and work to build up savings - buy an annuity, retire, enjoy.

The ideas you are positioning as reasonable are radical. You've lost your way.

And now from what Donald Trump calls 'fake news':

President Trump trails a generic Democratic rival in the early stages of the 2020 race, NBC/WSJ poll shows

"KEY POINTS A new NBC/WSJ survey shows that Americans, by 48 percent to 41 percent, plan to vote for the Democratic candidate opposing President Donald Trump. Trump faces double-digit deficits among voters under 50, women and independents. Overall approval of Trump’s job performance has ticked up to 46 percent of Americans since the end of the government shutdown; in January it was at 43 percent".

Quote source:
www.cnbc.com...

But its all fake news Trump fans so why worry? - Right?

No - This time the publc goes left.

Unless of course Trump can worlk his 'wizardry'' and in the same way he got the mainstream Republican Party
to implode in the last election - He can now get the mainstream Democrats to do likewise.

Still makes me wonder though, how would an admitted Socialist, but popular, Bernie Sanders do?

OK - If Trump donates enough money to Bernie he might [Trump] might win.

BUT:

You can fool all the people some of the time,
and some of the people all the time,
but you cannot fool all the people all the time
. Abraham Lincoln

A real live democratic Canine dog would have a better chance at beating Trump than the current crop of gun grabbing, socialist, communist, that are being paraded before the people as a democratic alternative IMO.. At least I hope so as I hate to think where we as a nation would be today if HRC had won. It would be great as all the MSN would be singing her praises as she and her cabal stripped what they could from the constitution and taxed everyone into the poor house.

Conversely a real live Canine dog labeled a republican would probably win if Trump decided to not run again..

Trump couldn’t win the nomination, then when he won that he couldn’t win the 2016 election.

Saying Trump can’t do something seems a bad strategy based on the evidence.

That goes without saying.

And in the primaries.

Stating OPINIONS, as facts does not make them true.

The base you say he "alienated", known then as never Trumpers, have, for the most part, gotten past their issues with Trump. If anything, he has broadened his base, that was, obviously, big enough to win before.

Meanwhile, the dems are driving moderates, indys, liberatarians, and Jewish voters away in droves.

Thinga like Medicare for all, and free college fot all ARE socialism. Call them anything you want, even if you beleive in them, it doesnt alter what they are. Don't even get me started on this "sky is falling" green new scam.

You are right about one thing though. He is a horrible polititian. His mouth, and his twitter account have no filter. That's a good thing IMO. I don't agree with everything he says (only about 90%), but he's real, and I respect him for calling like he sees it with no BS.

One thing you neglected to mention, are his accomplishments.

He has inarguably revitalized the economy, through tax cuts, and regulation sanity.

He has forced, or is forcing, more advantageous trade deals with countries that have been screwing the US for years.

I could go on, but my diatribe is probably wasted on OP.
