What a callous and flippant arrogant statement, Jags. About him citing his religion: "I personally think that is a pretty weak cop out."
Really? You don't think it took courage for that kid to forfeit the match? You don't think he thought about the teasing he would get? Or the push-back from his team members? Have some humanity, lady.....
I think the real question is why the hell are we having boys and girls wrestle?

What a friggin mary, I would have suplexed her ass hard. Maybe a full nelson to teach her a thing or two about wrastlin'.

Her would-be opponent, Johnston, told reporters that he was uncomfortable wrestling females, in part because of his Christian beliefs.
This is really interesting territory we're getting into. This is the kind of stuff we really didn't deal with much in my generation.
I remember a lone girl wanting to play football or something like that, but it was not the norm.
This high school boy gave up his chance at a state match because he was not comfortable wrestling a girl.
He blamed it on his religion. I personally think that is pretty weak cop out. Maybe he was scared of losing to a girl.
If he is really concerned on religious reasons, is it good to do those same moves with another boy? Really think about that.
I'm a girl and I think these guys should wrestle girls and don't hold back. They should treat them as if they were wrestingling anyone else.
If the girls lose they lose, but if they win, they do so fairly.

Thing to remember even with someone like Ronda Rousey a low experienced male boxers would tear her up. If we are talking pre-puberty then boys and girls are basically equal, but after that men are 50% stronger in upper body and 40% stronger in lower body with about 6 extra inches in height.

Men are built bigger than women to force them to mate when they don't want to. Nature is not a feminist.
His record is pretty good. All his losses are forfeits, to girls. Do your research.

Jesus...what a weasle. Wrestled since I was 4 years old and there was always a unlucky girl that wanted to be a boy in Oregon. They would usually make it all of one season and then by districts they would be done. So please dont act like this is new...
Sounds like he was scared to me and used any bull..it reason to get out of the match...
Jesus...USA wrestling in Portland Oregon...i.e..snakes would of put her off the Matt ...meaning a pin, in less than a minute with no excuses.
Guess his Matt club has excuses?

I don't know.
When I was wrestling, it was vicious...
Slamming on the mat, pressure points with elbows and knees all over the body, wicked headlocks to slamming on the mat.
Brutal
I couldn't beat a girl like that.
