If that were the case, they'd be easy enough to shut down with a well-placed EMP.

And to think only the MSM projects this summit as a failure ..... LOL

Projection of Fear and Failure at its worse

President Donald J. Trump, alongside President Trong of Vietnam, participated in the signing of commercial trade deals between leading Vietnamese airlines and American companies

Apparently Trump thinks Trump deserves a Peace Prize.

Your Barrack fuking Obama would have received multiple trophies for this effort, had he thought of it.

Not really, many of them are in supervised accomodation in China - so an EMP strike probably wouldn't be the best of ideas......

By giving a Kim some sort of prestige on the world stage? Against the counsel of ... everybody?

You'd prefer we just give him cash to leave us alone? That's what almost every other President has done.

Or maybe you'd be happier with an armed invasion? Sorry, some of us are actually wanting peace.

Sheesh, SMH...

TheRedneck

Like all bitter liberals who are still butthurt, he'd be happier with anything that will reflect negatively on Trump. The hate is too strong with those people.

The talks have broken down and Trump has achieved nothing. Well, colour me surprised.
Can someone please tell me why this Orange imbecile likes to compliment odious little dictators like Kim?

To keep the people of his country safe. According to your location, you're in London so nobody really gives a crap what you think anyways.

Wow, that really is a major accomplishment that he didn't need to be there for since it was already in the works for some time. Maybe those two can take credit for the sun coming up as well.

Yes, he has done more than any President since the Korean War to foster peaceful relations.

You only need to read DPRK's past 'agreements' to see that Trumps last meeting resulted in the most feeble of statements from the DPRK in regard to any de-nuclearisation comments/pacts/ etc over the last 30 years or so....mind you, none of those came to anything much either....let's just say the meet was more about dictators bonding...ching ching.

It is amazing the Trump psychological phenomenon going on these days. The man could eradicate cancer tomorrow and the hard core leftists would say he was putting good pharmaceutical industry people out of work.

Ain't it the truth?

I started this thread to discuss/alert the breaking news, which I consider quite important. Kim Jong Un has nuclear capability. Whether we like it or not, he is in control of North Korea and does have the ability to cause all kinds of death and destruction. We also know that he is unstable and has little respect for human life. It is in everyone's best interests to see him disarmed, and in no one's best interests to ignore him.

And yet, we see in this one thread people who are clamoring to Kim's support because Donald Trump is trying to prevent a nuclear disaster. It's one thing to say he has little chance of success; it is quite another to cheer any lack of success. That is warmongering, pure and simple, and it saddens me to see that so many are so hateful that they prefer nuclear disaster to peace if that peace comes at the cost of someone they hate getting credit for it.

Myself, I am disappointed... but also still hopeful. Progress has been made, even if some would slit their own throats to deny it. The missile tests have stopped for now; the nuclear tests have stopped for now; many of the families of our vets have closure with their loved ones' remains being back home; the two Koreas are talking peace instead of shooting at and antagonizing each other; Kim Jong Un is talking to reporters. It's not peace, not yet... but not everything gets resolved in 30 minutes like on TV. There has been no failure, only limited success this one time.

The only failure surrounds those who hate.

Didnt mr trump deny that they had any missiles that could reach the United States?
Even when his security advisers and intelligence chiefs all said they did?
But Vladimir Putin told him they didn't and I believe his exact words were. "I believe Putin."

OMG, he actually said he believed Putin???????

No elected Republican can say something so bold without facing impeachment!!

Yah that or Obama can keep
Taking credit for the Trump economy and then he can take credit for the talks with Kim
While he’s at it.

I used to keep CNN on in the background, but I was throwing too many things at the TV. New screens get expensive.

TheRedneck

Yeah cnn is just as bad. I can barely stomach most of these outlets now.

Interesting piece from the Guardian about the collapse of the Hanoi talks here. Apparently the talks went nowhere because both sides badly misread the other at the first talks. Trump, for example, did not realise that the de-nuclearisation language used by Kim was referring to a different end result than he thought. Interesting.

Obama got a Peace Prize.

What for ?

Bombing the hell out of Lybia?

Letting ISIS run wild in Syria and Iraq?

Cops getting gunned down in the streets of "Murica

Wasn't much peace going on under the 4th Reich.

Can someone tell me what Obama did to get a peace prize
I don’t think Obama did anything to bring about any peace under his watch

Well, he was the first black president and vowed for world peace. But other than that, he created lots of violence not only in America by helping the media paint targets on the backs of our police, but also by drawing imaginary red lines that were crossed several times, and pulling troops out of a country which created a terrorist organization that he called a JV team.

Sounds like someone forgot to pack a copy of the art of the deal.

Have we forgotten how to negotiate or is the goal really just to buy time for nk to better weaponize and continue the starvation of his people via tapeworms?

Either way it is no sweat of potus back.

Clearly giving him cash isn't an option, but thinking that Trump has somehow 'fostered peace', is preposterous and naive.

If you think Lil Kim is ever going to give up his nukes, you are delusional.

Whelp. There's the problem right there.

I know, why watch a channel with conservative, libertarian and conservative views and hosts when you could just watch CNN or MSNBC and be exposed to 100% progressive liberalism 100% of the time!? Who needs to hear both sides of any story before they can make up their minds?? What are they, stupid?

That actually sounds feasible. Translation between Chinese and English results in things like "not touching of high voltage is recommended for cause of death." It's funny many times, aggravating others, but it underscores just how dissimilar the two cultures are. Korea is likely very similar in that dissimilarity with Western culture and concepts, perhaps even more so since North Korea has never experienced life without a supposed demi-god for a dictator.
