I don't know what its like there now. Its been a while since I worked there. I was there around 2006/2007. Back then they had quite a few unhappy people regarding pensions, wages, hours, working conditions, etc. In 2006 they had some reorganization going on and the stock was around 10.50. They pumped a lot of sunshine, if you know what I mean, and some employees put a fair portion of their pensions in company stock. The stock dropped roughly 80% and is only now getting back to the same levels it was in 2006.

The view from the helicopter they are showing at the moment is the rear entry area to the Engineering department which is where I worked. In the double doors and left to engineering. It sounds like the shooting happened either in engineering or the front offices but most of the front offices were upstairs. At least they were back then. Its hard to say what the layout is now.

From the sounds of it, lacking further details, it appears like the perp showed up brandishing a firearm whereupon law enforcement was called. After LEO's responded, shooter opened fire on police. The four injured are police officers, so the shooter was at the scene for long enough to allow LEO's to respond with out opening fire.

The four officers injured do not have life threatening injuries. No information on the one deceased.

ETA - CNN, ABC, CBS, running story as #1 headline story. NBC showing as co-headline story. Other news outlets running story as tertiary at best. Al Jazeera not covering the story.

To wish harm on someone just because they are in the way, or to harm innocent bystanders is one of the most vile things humans can do.

We may never escape this type of behavior no matter how hard people try to outlaw the tools they use. Darkness will find a way.

But we need to shine brighter and light up the world as best we can so that darkness will not consume us.

Sounds like the shooter was laid off a couple weeks ago and was pretty stressed out. Press conference starting soon.

Edit:
Five police shot, five civilians dead, and the shooter, if I heard that correctly. One of the witnesses they keep referring to was the guy who got me up to speed with their operation when I started working there.

Why is that? The same firearms were available then versus now.

Playing video games excessively, to the point of developing anti social behaviors, addiction like withdrawals(tantrums, etc) and other negative behavior traits is possible whether it's minecraft or call of duty.
