My experience of Germans on holiday? Well, there is the towels on the sunbeds thing - that's pretty arrogant.

Speedo's (Budgie Smugglers)three sizes too small. Bargey and greedy at the self service restaurant at the hotel. Boiled willies and carrots for breakfast? Stop it. When a rumour went round that the bratwurst or whatever the things are called were running out there was a German stampede.

At a self service restaurant at a hotel in Croatia I got the last fried egg. Or, I got my spatula under it and was putting it on my plate when a very large and arrogant German lady came running up and put hers under the egg and tried to nick it. There then ensued a sort of spatula sword fight along the lines of "You come once too often to Nottingham Castle, Sir Robin" which I eventually won.

That night, we watched the football and when we beat Croatia we all did a conga round the pool. Not because we particularly wanted to, just because it really, really p#ssed off the Germans who like to frown upon such things.

It's not me, just reporting what the population thinks about your citizens from crossing paths on holidays and other events.
You are arrogant ,loud and unpolite.
Seriously.
Sincerely Munich and southern Bavaria. You know Oktoberfest, Mallorca etc.

And you really could muse once in a while, what you do so dilligently, about what you did and what experiences are saved on the drive called "nationwide memory". 90% of the world, yet you are just such a tiny island.
That's commitment. And quite agressive. You didn't "hug" your way into those countries.

You have been too a drinking festival and Germany and are now qualified to judge all British people??

Pfft.

See you next Tuesday champ.

A lot of the bad parts of the Brexit stuff is mostly guesses and the same on our side (Leavers). I wish people would stop making doom and gloom predictions as much as I wish people who think it'll all be great and wonderful would stop. We're going to face some hardships and most likely it'll fall mostly on the poor and breadline workers (people who work but claim benefits as well) but I reckon it'll balance it out in the end and things will pick up. All we have to hope is that whomever is in Government, whoever is the PM will put more than just their own political aspirations aside and look out for those who need the help...

Great nations like the UK don't need to apologize for not empowering other nations to dominate the world. Others tried.

The UK should feel pride in their strength and resolve. While other nations could not protect their people from nature or conquest, Great Britan held back the waves of enemies and recovered from all disasters struck.

Other has been nations should not comment on the nature of great nations like the UK. They are in a different class and little insignificant BS peoples need to check who the hell they are and who they speak to.

Most countries tried to be great. Only some use the word in their name.

Great Britan does not need to feel shame for her glorious history.

Ooof very well said my friend.

I need to play Rule Brittania very loudly now.

The potential loss of 25,000 resort jobs doesn’t seem to me good enough reason to refrain from reclaiming a country’s sovereignty.

I think this is the most derailed thread I have ever read.

Back on topic:
I'm sick of these lame "we can't" experts/politicians.
Surely the countries with the ski resorts have their own immigration policy for non-EU migrants? Why can't their politicians amend it to allow seasonal workers from the UK to work in their ski-resorts if it's so important to them?

Or is that another democratic right the EU have taken away?

I had to look that up and now wish I had not.

Back on topic, I think that I and many other Brits are sick and tired of being told that Brexit will make the sky fall in etc. - look at all the doom and fear predicted by Osborne et al that was supposed to happen immediately after a vote to leave. Didn't happen yet Project Fear rolls on regardless.

Saw the other day that Juncker has had a fat pay rise to E32,700 per month. That should pay for a fair few boozy lunches.

As an English citizen living in Holland (gratefully) for the last 25 years, I would just like to say:

# the EU and its' agenda and its' politicians!

Enough is enough, the people have voted. Bye bye...

I said in a recent thread, any preperations that need to be made for a no deal Brexit have already been made and the pessimism has been so great that the markets already have it priced in (way more than priced in if you ask me).

Any company that hasn't made plans for a no-deal Brexit shouldn't expect to fare well, but it's not as if the government actually do anything on the ground. Life will carry on as normal and our children will thank us when they aren't ruled from Brussels in 20 years.

The best, most positive and realistic leaver statemen I have ever read. You are a credit to your beliefs and I agree.

I tried to go back and read the thread. I wanted to reply to the valid comments.

I’m worn out. Completely dismayed.

Isn’t it against T&Cs to derail to such an extent, multiple times, in multiple threads?

Anyway. Thanks for the input. And thanks for not taking my ‘left leaning scarf wearing’ jib seriously. I was actually wearing a scarf when I wrote the thread.

Britain has invaded 90% of the countries in the world

Nope. Nice myth. Completely untrue.

To the OP. These ski resort companies need to change their business model. I think the reason why they use Britons is because they acer cheap and willing - young work experience types. Local labour will be pricier. What a shame.

It's just another story into the pile marked "Brexit Doom".
