I guess disagreement comes into play when one thinks of our criminal justice system as nothing more than a farce and another tool of the elite.

The persecution of Trump serves a convenient purpose, the only reason it is allowed to happen. He may be kicked out of office and see some sort of superficial punishment but I doubt he will ever be truly punished or see the inside of a jail cell, either.

Trump and Hillary will answer for their misdeeds in another life.

American politics is a reality TV show. Nothing more, nothing less. Hillary gets piled on from the Right. Trump gets piled on from the Left. That is just how it goes. It is how it will always go.

Meanwhile, the true victims of unequal and inconsistent application of the rule of law - overwhelmingly poor people and people of color and people with mental illness - will continue to get screwed.

But by all means, people. Continue the charade. Clearly you are getting something from it.

Not sure what you mean.

I've been calling the US a Banana Republic for quite some time.

There is no justice, there is no equality under the law.

There might never have been but it's overt now.

Did I cut to close to the truth there for you?

The Sec of State under the Clinton and the Clinton Foundation wrote the book on pay to play.

Looks like they actually got a pretty damn good deal...considering:

Hotel prices in D.C. up 927% ahead of Trump’s inauguration — and protests

Prices of hotel rooms in Washington, D.C., are 927% higher than usual for the week of the ceremony, according travel website Trivago, at an average of $2,071 per night for a standard double room. Barring major events like Inauguration Day, the usual rate for a room of that type in the city tends to hover around $200 in January, at $215 in 2013, $204 in 2014, $186 in 2015, and $204 in 2016, according to Trivago.

There you go again with those damn facts IAMTAT.

Don't you know facts don't matter......Orange Man BAD MAN!

I wasn't specifically referencing you personally although I was replying to your post.

But I agree with your sentiments here.

Anyway it's unfortunate, because we should demand equal application of the law - but it requires people to go against bias. If one wishes Hillary Clinton would face justice then they have to support Donald Trump facing punishment for his crimes also, or otherwise what is the point?

It's like defending the First Amendment. Anyone can stand up and defend speech that they agree with. That takes no courage. It is in defending speech you disagree with or find objectionable that we find the essence of that ideal.

They both must face justice, if we are to have any justice at all. Those on the Right will never swallow that pill. But actually, those on the Left would be even harder pressed to face the facts here, because it works both ways. If we demand justice for Trump than we must demand justice for Clinton. Unfortunately both sides are cultish and see their leaders as unassailable.

What ‘crimes’ does the President have to ‘face justice’ for?

According to TWO FULL YEARS of TOP LEVEL investigation, there’s NOTHING. Especially not a ‘crime’.

But I agree, the knife should cut both ways. So now we should have TWO FULL YEARS of top level investigation into every single aspect of the ultra corrupt hitlery Clinton. No?

Oh wait, we can’t. She smashed evidence with hammers and bleachbit wipes hard drives etc, after that evidence was requested by subpoena no less.

I wonder what would be uncovered if her ‘campaign funds’ were followed down every alley?

They won’t be though.

TWO FULL YEARS!!! And NOTHING.
Maybe another week and they’ll find something?
Maybe another two weeks?

Yep. And NOTHING!

Why? Have you heard different? Has he been charged with ANYTHING? No?

Oh you mean ‘allegations’ cooked up by LWNJ’s?

Just as I thought

Hm. He is indeed an 'unindicted' co-conspirator. You're sure right about that. For the moment.

Do you have anything to say about the proven fact that ALL DC Hotel pricing was up 925% during the inauguration?

Sorry Tat, didn't mean to blow that off -- I can certainly believe that with no problems, Supply & Demand - of course,
but with the Trumps, and their positions, it might have a different result. I know Trump isn't supposed to be making money off his position, and Ivanka also, (ridiculously so) has a position in the administration, so, I guess we'll have to wait and see what the results of the audits and investigations reveal.

Thanks.
Given the referenced information...It would appear that Trump's hotel was quite generous with it's pricing...considering it was common practice in DC by all other hotels to increase their prices 9x-10x.

Any other DC hotel would've charged substancially more.

Yes of course, but the owners were not the President-elect. Surely you recognize the difference.

Sorry, site glitchy for me tonight.
I know the President-elect was intentionally no longer involved in his business affairs.
I also know that his hotel offered services at a much greater discount for the event than would his local competitors...ultimately, saving money.

I don't see how anyone can "know" that anything he says is true. He has serious problems with lying and dealing in a way that is aboveboard.

Ivanka might be in some kind of jeopardy as well.

Your statement is subjective in nature...and may be used by anyone from any political persuasion regarding any president ever.

BTW...Sorry to hear about the hurt leg.
Get well soon.

Typical rightist response to anything even remotely incriminating against Trump and his family. Either deflect or act as if it's not a big deal and/or that if it triggers liberals it's actually a good thing.

If it were Hillary you'd be up in arms, but Trump? "The media says mean things about him so he's innocent!"

How do you get people to stop focusing on a critical issue?

Someone having an affair? Political scandal? High-powered divorce? Distract them with dirty laundry.

Perhaps it’s all a means of desensitizing the masses,it’s a means of numbing us to the realities that we have no power, no wealth and really, no say in how the world works.

While everyone is focusing on Trump talking to a Russian, or building a wall, lying, cheating ,stealing are we like blind sheep being led to slaughter?
