I only take a £10 basic call/text/snake game phone with me if I might face arrest whatever I'm doing, first thing cops do is try access your phone. Lots of key people I don't even have their number saved, they are saved in my head. Cops will get nothing off my phone.

I'd certainly send people to address exactly why they did it directly with them . I'd explain the duty of the police towards law order and safety , and make clear that that job , was mostly separate from the policies of Macron .

I'd have informed anyone I had evidence on of having committed a serious crime that they shortly have a court date . I wouldn;t have lined them them in the prone position

The hands on the head makes it obvious if you’re reaching for a weapon, so you can be stopped quicker.
Kneeling makes it harder to just run away. You have to get up first, which will be noticed.

It’s all standard practice. The op just seems to be offended “....because kids”. Yeah? Well let’s see how those nice couple of kids at Columbine would have been with a nice cup of tea and a bilkie.

Lol, when I was a teenager cops wouldn't think twice about hitting us with their sticks, kneeling would have been preferable for sure.
I don't want a return to those days, but crying about being forced to kneel is funny as #.
