I agree white people should be ashamed they are the majority. Forced sterilization is needed.

Fox News spreading the propaganda thick these days. They're just as bad as CNN or MSNBC.

You could find just about anything on Twitter if you look hard enough. But of course the media has to sensationalize everything to rile up their bases.

He's got one whole side of a table to himself. That's the way to go. Elbow room and no one mistakes your drink for theirs.

And Fox News was more than happy to spread it further. Propaganda and sensationalism. You can find literally anything on Twitter if you're willing to look for it. The media is more than happy to sell us a fringe opinion as a widely held one just to cause controversy. That's their job in this whole farce.

Too bad. Whoever labeled it that needs to get over it.

I don't care what they think about it (or anything else). It is a classic and should be played 10 times as much now.

Low-IQ losers who see racism everywhere serve no purpose and I am not interested in hearing their crybaby whining. Go cry about racism to a hot potato, you'll get more concern/care out of it

Failures & losers who blame others for their own poor choices, low intelligence and lack of self-created opportunity/success

Get a hobby race-obsessed race baiting identity politicking loser/failure/total failure whiners.

Since you bring up the topic of "low-IQ losers"... what about the people who live in a state of total denial and can't seem to grasp the factual reality that theirs aspect of popular culture from 45 years ago, which was considered socially appropriate at the time... but is considered completely inappropriate by today's standards.

I mean sure, it serves no logical purpose for anyone on either side to have a full blown meltdown about... But to blatantly deny their was sometimes a racist undertone in popular culture back then, which just wouldn't fly in our current times, is the very definition of blissful ignorance.

If the creators of the cartoon were racist, Franklin wouldn't even be at the table.

Someone truly woke would say wow, Charlie Brown was a trailblazer, that's awesome.

Charles Schultz was a trailblazer. Too bad he's not here to tell us what his editorial purpose was. Perhaps it was a comment on the "separate but equal" justfication of racial segregation.

Obviously Schultz was trying to make a point about racism himself. That makes some people uncomfortable -- people who are too stupid or uneducated to interpret the intention of artists and writers.

I agree with your interpretation and others here that support this contention. Consider this idea and apply it to this scene.

Franklin, the obvious minority of the Peanuts Gang, is included in a traditional white celebration and yet is kept separate from the others, ie. separate but equal. If most people who watched this when it first aired noticed this and became aware of how blacks were being treated when "separate but equal" was considered fair, then the message was delivered without provoking editors and censorship. Artists often employ such tactics when trying to make unpopular statements in works commissioned by those in power.

How Franklin appeared as a Peanuts character:

It began in 1968 with a letter to Schulz from a woman named Harriet Glickman, suggesting Schulz include a "Negro child" character in his popular comic strip:

Schulz, first expressed reservations...and felt it may come off as "patronizing".

Mrs. Glickman suggested she would ask some of her "Negro" friends what they thought.

Schulz tells her he would look forward to what she learned.

Schulz receives a positive response from one of Mrs. Glickman's "Negro friends":

Dear Mr. Schulz:

With regards to your correspondence with Mrs. Glickman on the subject of including Negro kids in the fabric of Peanuts, I’d like to express an opinion as a Negro father of two young boys. You mention a fear of being patronizing. Though I doubt that any Negro would view your efforts that way, I’d like to suggest that an accusation of being patronizing would be a small price to pay for the positive results that would accrue!

Sincerely,
KCK

Schulz writes back to Mrs. Glickman, agreeing a "Negro" child character will debut in Peanuts:

...and true to his word, Franklin appeared in Peanuts:

I think I have a solution to all of this.

From now on, all movies, cartoons, TV shows and basically any image media, should just be stick figures instead of people. Then you dub a computer synthesized voice over human voices, and make it neither male or female. Instead of music, you just have nature sounds. We would have a non race specific, non gender specific and non culture specific mass media. That should finally shut everybody up.
