My ballot went to straight Democrat and I couldn't change it.

Anyone who makes this a right-wing or left-wing issue is a tool.

Tulsi Gabbard is the Democratic rep from Hawaii. She actually submitted a bill to say that elections should be paper or paper back up. To many people want to raise money and fire up their base and it never went anywhere. she was on joe rogan. Very good interview.

HOw easy it was for them to cancel the ballot, is also scary

I almost never vote straight ballot. but any party that wants to mess with this economy, is not looking out for the american people and does not deserve my vote

And it begins. I hope this doesn't become an issue. That's very serious IMO.

Strange, ATS didn't think swapping a vote was all that serious when Democratic votes were flipped to Republican ones for Cruz in Texas.

Yes, the claim was that it was simply user error.

Yeah and the OP was smart enough to fix the issue. I guess your party is just plain old retarded to not understand the simple concept of fixing a simple issue?

I don't care what way it goes, if it changes ANYONE'S vote it there is something seriously WRONG! And, it needs to be corrected immediately. If it happens more than ONCE then all the machines of that type should be taken out of service and replaced with paper ballots.

You're speaking logic. Blowing the circuits of liberal lunacy.

I guess no matter where you live manipulation will occur.

Saw reports of the exact same thing happening in the elections in my country last week.

You're damn right it is, I never said there wasn't something seriously wrong with that. These have been in use for how long now? And they STILL haven't fixed these errors?

Way past time to trash them until the "errors" are worked out, if ever. I know paper and pens still have their (much smaller & milder by comparison) drawbacks, but they're a hell of a lot more reliable than electronic machines are. I've yet to use an electronic voter machine, and hope I never do. And IF that's forced on us wholesale, which I'm sure it will be some day, they damn well better have these flip kinks worked the hell out.

SocratesJohnson:

I went in and hit the republican button, and it went to straight democrat.

Question: why are you voting? You've just given a good example for not doing so, and there are many others.

You know for a fact that elections are manipulated. You are told who you can vote for in the main, none of the candidates are your choice, so why vote?

Here in Britain it is the same. We are told who we can vote for, independents don't get a look in except as token gestures. Democracy is utterly manipulated so that the status quo for those who control is not upset. If you want change and to have a voice...don't vote.

Let the whole corrupt edifice crumble and fall, only then will your voice count.

There is really no excuse for voting machines to make mistakes. Computers are no longer new technology so if there is a programming error it is there on purpose.

It worries me that computers are used for voting.

Not because I am a conspiracy nut (I am) but because they can become corrupted. It is hard to lose a wooden box full of ballots. It's easy to lose a lot of virtual 1s and 0s.

I agree its got be legit no matter who wins.

Fixing a broken voting process is an AMERICAN issue. Period.

Without that, it's over.

We have a paper ballot. I fill in the oval next to the candidate I want to vote for then it goes into a scanner.
Here you just have to be able to read and color in a circle.

I believe in every case it was user error. And a clerk was able to fix it.
