Think of the nifty crime fighting cape and mask you could have lol , they give the mad funkies methadone here but they just take whatever on top of it and hand in clean samples ?? their favourite is Gabbapentine which knocks them like a bottle of straight booze within minutes and shows up nothing next day / 90+ % of the people i know on that crap will never stop it , but hey chaos is good for business and keeps courts /police/social workers etc etc in jobs

It's crazy the drugs folk use these days, and the sheer amount of people who do. I class alcohol as 'A' same as coc aine, it is legal and ruins tens of thousands of lives each year, nuts.
The law is silly in my opinion, sell it via the NHS and use the profits to fund rehab/addiction services. The profit would be hundreds of millions, if not billions each year.

As a recovering person I have been both the buyer and seller.

No matter what the community at large thinks about drug use it's not cool to subject others to that life style.

That being said us humans enjoy the altered state be it from food, running, meditation or drugs. I think it's time we as a species accepted that and provided safe ways to consume what ever your vice may be.

i was on methadone for about 2 years.

i never touched opiates until i get really hurt and my doctors gave me tons and tons of them. One day that stopped rather quickly and i was addicted to it physically and mentally and when i couldn't get the pills i went to the street.

it took me 3 weeks to lower my dose to the point the VA would take me and detox me from the methadone, it took two weeks, but it worked.

methadone saved my life no doubt but i agree with you about people never getting off of it. they dont call it liquid handcuffs for nothing.

and its gabapentin or lyrica people like, it works on the same receptors in your brain as valium or xanax so people looking to nod out enjoy that stuff and doesn't show up in pee tests as it mimics natural GABA chemicals in your body.

it's used normally for nerve pain and isn't controlled(lyrica is but is the lowest classification)

look at all the money the cartel makes, enough to run mexico and fund their private armies of killers.

definitely BILLIONS and BILLIONS of money could be fed right back into the health system if the government supplied the drugs(in a legit way)

I have weird Genetics from my parents we all seem too be immune to most of these doctors pills and injections . i never take half of my recommended Statins etc and could take handfuls of the Gabapentin and still feel pain so i stopped them years ago . i stick to a aspirin a day and plenty water now plus a blood thinning pill .

I have been collapsing like the twin towers for the last 8-10 months and have just looked up the tablet i take at nights to sleep because of tinnitus bnf.nice.org.uk...

Wow that is one mean tablet I wonder how i have had 6 heart attacks lately ,Going senile . i have begged my doctors to take me off them .

My doctors are getting sued in the morning Judge JUDY OR Judge Rinder

they put me on 200mg of that for sleep in the VA during my detox, it made me a zombie.

its not good for your brain or blood sugar, im not in the UK so i cant open that link(US) but i saw the name in the url.

you should try lyrica, its a stronger version of the gabapentin and helps with sleep and anxiety and nerve pain if you need some pain relief its better than the opiates i think.

if you want something OTC for sleep, what i do is take diphenhydramine(benadryl) 75-100mg and that knocks me out usually.(not medical advice)

I get immune to what ever tablet or potion they give me by the 3rd day all except 1 , which i have been begging the medical profession in for 30 years . the doctors would have you swollowing buckets of tablets which never fixes the problem that do not agree with you and give people horrible side affects .

I stopped the sleeping tablets the doctor was insisting i take for sleep and would offer no other since march but on 9/30 i asked for them back just to sleep .

I could open a chemist with the boxes of pills they give me that i refuse to take , figured out years ago pain was all in the mind

Some but not all the side effects of that tablet are

Appetite increased; asthenia; dysarthria; dyspepsia; dyspnoea; fever; headache; irritability; palpitations; peripheral oedema; rhinitis; sleep disorders; suicidal behaviour (particularly on initiation); suicidal ideation (particularly on initiation); syncope; vision blurred; withdrawal syndrome

And i am taking this for sleeping

Uncommon
Anaemia; diabetes mellitus; dysphagia; hyponatraemia; hypothyroidism; sexual dysfunction; skin reactions; thrombocytopenia

Rare or very rare
Angioedema; breast swelling; gastrointestinal disorders; hepatic disorders; hypothermia; menstrual disorder; metabolic syndrome; pancreatitis; rhabdomyolysis; severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs); SIADH

we are not finished yet

Common or very common
Agitation; amenorrhoea; arrhythmias; constipation; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; erectile dysfunction; galactorrhoea; gynaecomastia; hyperglycaemia; hyperprolactinaemia; hypotension (dose-related); insomnia; leucopenia; movement disorders; neutropenia; parkinsonism; postural hypotension (dose-related); QT interval prolongation; rash; seizure; tremor; urinary retention; vomiting; weight increased

Uncommon
Agranulocytosis; confusion; embolism and thrombosis; neuroleptic malignant syndrome (discontinue—potentially fatal)

BUT HERE IS THE ONE THAT GRABS YOUR ATTENTION

Rare or very rare
Sudden death; withdrawal syndrome

And this evil tablet that i have been asking the Doctors for is called Valium 5mg you could not make this stuff up cheers:

why don't you just get it online? all you need is a CC or bitcoin, you'd be shocked what you can get online these days.

sometimes you need to take your health into your own hands, doctors are gun shy on prescribing certain pills

just make sure you know what your getting into

Well whatever it is and classified as. I am quite sure that no doctor or self help guru or talk will do jack squat. Really nobody can change anybody else. That is unless they want to. Is why we still have people arguing about there same invisible man in the sky ages latter. And its why the only people who really knew how to change people, were well. People like Genghis Khan, Caesar, Stalin, and etc etc.

History is just a bunch of side notes on various people and nations and there attempts on how to get a peoples to act and be like they wanted them to be. So that way things would be less intrusive. Must uphold the collective peace of mind you know.

So ya! Unless the person in question say "forget this #, no more" And actually goes through and does it. Nothing will change no matter what you say or do. The rest as you can see by this thread and different nations and countries, is but on how to deal with it till and if something like that does happen.

The quite way, or the less quite way, its basically what it comes down to. And then there is the alternative way.

True, but it does help when people are "classified" as having a health problem instead of being criminals, as another common characteristic of us humans is to react in the same way we are treated, so when people are treated as enemies they act like enemies, but if they are treated as someone that needs help they are more likely to accept that help.

Believe it or not a lot of people consider Methadone to be worse for you than Heroin, but the heroin sold on the street is never 100% pure. So people using heroin expose themselves to a random mix of different cutting agents on a daily basis, and the health consequences from the injection or ingestion of these different cutting agents can be severe. You’re still an addict on Methadone, just one that's dependent on a taxable product with somewhat more quality control in place.

It's never a solution but simply a change of venue really.

a reply to: andy06shake Heroin addicts tell me methadone just takes the 'edge' off their withdrawal symptoms, so many still use H while on prescribed methadone.
They get the methadone free so some even sell it on to buy heroin...might as well give them free heroin at the health centre I reckon. It would cut down the stealing and prostitution for sure. I'd guess with all the associated crime in the long run it would be cheaper for the tax payer and safer for the addicts.
The UK govt will never be brave enough to do that though.

Stops there bones rattling, that's if their dosage is correct.

But the fact of the matter remains that you are simply replacing one problem with another.

The other being a socially acceptable legal problem.

So profit and tax as opposed to an actual solution, no more no less.

The way it will probably always be, same in any gang, governmental through vote, or de facto in control locally.
I would give methadone to anyone trying to quit, and heroin to anyone who is addicted but not ready to give up. It would solve the crime and pay for itself, enough to invest more in addiction services and rehab.

12 years ago on my 40th birthday i decided to try a little bit of uncle charlie as i never saw the point and it was something to cross of my bucket list .

I went very easy maybe 2 match size lines ,everybody else in the room was ok and were giving it Ye ha , I went home and woke up with a swollen face and what felt like a flu on the second day of being chocked up i felt something hit the back of my throat and spat it out , it had been blocking my left nostril .

I took it to the doctors rapped in cling film on a big yogurt top , weeks later i got a call from the doctors too come in about this and got hit with a big name infection called >? steph something but the people at the laboratory had never seen anything like this before and wanted to keep it as a exhibit

So now i only take things that come direct from a doctor
