McLean released the statement to ABC News on Wednesday morning. It said, simply,
“I have NEVER had Christine Blasey Ford, or anybody else, prepare me, or provide any other type of assistance whatsoever in connection with any polygraph exam I have taken at anytime.”
McLean made the statement after an ex-boyfriend of Ford’s told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he had seen Ford preparing McLean to take a polygraph.

But hey, there's still that fear of flying thing!
Trump has been bashed continuously by the media at levels never ever remotely approached before. You really think if you were being lied about by nearly every media outlet on Earth for months you would just sit back and say - just wait the investigation will clear me.

Challenging, yes. Belligerence may be in the eye of the beholder.
When someone makes a direct inquiry I respond. When someone makes an assertion, I query.

Better hope someone doesn't find something similar you might have written at 16, decades later and attempt to assess your honesty and character based on that.

Even if testified to under oath, it's a hard one to prove either way, being something that happened in a room with only three people present. However, I'd check to see if McLean took a polygraph around the time indicated. If so, that's inside knowledge that would lend some credibility.

Ex Boyfriend made his statement under oath.
Did McLean deny it under oath?

Yes, this is 100% legit story.
Here is the breaking story on Grassley demanding evidence
after this revelation.
Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley is demanding evidence related to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s sexual assault accusations after reports suggest she once helped a long-time friend prepare for a polygraph test.
The Senate Judicial Committee needs “material evidence relevant to allegations of sexual assault” against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, the panel’s chairman wrote in a letter to Ford’s attorneys Tuesday evening shortly following allegations she advised her friend on what to expect during a polygraph.

Dear Chairman Grassley:
Regarding the documents you have requested in your letter of October 2, 2018, Dr. Ford
is prepared to provide those documents to the FBI when she is interviewed. We have not yet
heard from the FBI about scheduling an interview with her.
