I do not think a very small amount of people leaving Apple and YouTube because they have banned Jones will effect their bottom line..in fact with #e like infowars gone they may make more money.

The problem we have here is that these companies are banning based on 'violating community guidelines', but there is no real clear definition of why they did it. That is a slippery slope. There are plenty of pages on, say, Youtube, that have far worse content.

Well take that issue up with the content providers themselves. I'm just defending that what they are doing is legal and allowed.

I see a free market company making its own decision

Which ia what us conervatives are suppose to support and always do.
And now because its someone they like they don't support it....

Its hypocrisy

Do you see it's NOT a FREE MARKET!?? if they pick and choose who to censor based upon their agenda?

ATS can choose whose a member here and whose not at any moment.

Free market. Period

Yes, in this case, whilst unfair, it is legal.
Jones only has himself to blame. He must have known they were gunning for him as he has received previous suspensions, but he wasn't clever enough to go up to the line but not step over it.
It still should worry people, though. This kind of censorship and double standard does not lead anywhere good.

Stretching things there aren't you? It's not like you can't get to infowars' website or anything? Heck, Google doesn't even bury infowars in the search terms. If you search for it is the first result you get. You are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill here. Apple is just doing what they think is best for their company.

Like a baker who does not want to bake a cake for a gay couple? That would be a free market company making a decision and it lead to a Supreme Court Ruling. Another slippery slope.

What this is showing is an open format is restricted because of political beliefs by big business. Same thing as above but it is ok since it is Alex Jones right?

I think it's fairly significant because Facebook, Youtube AND Apple have all banned him. That pretty much wipes out his ad revenue.

If you support tech giants that doesn't have American values... that's like flying communist flag, showing your true colors.

Where's the proof its political?

Maybe they don't want to be associated w a guy that's currently under 6 lawsuits for the stuff that hes been saying? Much if it that was hosted by YouTube and his channel???

People are making assumptions its political becsuae they don't like the fact it happened to THEIR guy

There is absolutely NOTHING that shows that's what it is

When I 1st started on ATS Jones was a joke by both left and right what happened?.

Even idiots have a right to free expression.

And before anyone else gets their shorts in a knot, companies have been acting as proxy for governmental/political ideologies to effectively censor information.

Ha, yes. I think it's wrong for these platforms to do this, but it's in no way illegal.
To be honest the few times I listened to Jones I had to switch him off after 10 mins or so. He's too much.
I can't see people really fighting for him.

Id argue in a free market he can pay to start his own pod casts. He wants others to pay to host him for free. In order for that to happen there needs to be a benefit for the company. Infowars in no way helps their brand so he can just pay to host it himself.

I really don't think he'll be hurting though. He still has his shoddy supplement business, his overpriced survival gear business, and his conspiracy theory news network that brings in tons of far right advertising revenue.
