The Wasp and new America hulls are 843 and 844 feet respectively. The minimum takeoff distance for the F-35B is 550-600 feet.

Ehh did not realize that, it seem the ‘B is pretty useless.

About as useless as a Harrier.

Which you consider how useless?

I actually consider them quite useful. Having the baby carriers take some of the work off the full deck carriers is a big deal.

I was about to say surely the great Zaph can’t hate the harrier.

Only when the damn things came through for unit swaps. I like them as long as they're far, far away.

You don’t love the sound of the “music” of the Marine Harrier wings? They are some loud mofos!

I got to watch them take the wings off once to change the engine.

Ah yeah the maintenance was not the most practical on the old bird. Got a friend at a Marine Light Attack helo unit so I get all kinds of gratuitous pictures of super cobras and twin Huey gunships.

All you used to have to do to get my father wound up was tell him the Marines were inbound. He'd be grumpy all day.

Eh, with the crap that happened when the Navy and Marines were on base, I don't blame him.

Was just having fun with the old innerservice rivalry cliches. The tail hookers can be quite the crowd.

I've worked on the lasers. The lasers won't stop this. Neither will a CIWS.

This is more like a big chunk of metal. Think inert cannonball.

Oh I know. The Navy was the only group he hated to see come in more than the Marines. After that damn LC-130 I largely agreed with him.

Railguns are so yesterday's "news". So are flintlocks. Still wouldn't want get shot by one. Trust me, China is a couple weeks behind the US. on "technology".
Very little, if anything, China has made is from homegrown blue prints. But they did make black powder which started it all. ... Still not worried.
They just recently got aircraft carrier "technology". Wouldn't underestimate them, but don't loose sleep over it.

No, it spent 14 years stuck on the ice, and had the world's dumbest pain in the ass FE for their Depot flight.
