It's a puppet show, simple window dressing for our masses really.

Short of NK coming into the fold, adopting a centralized banking system in line with the rest, nevermind a complete regime change, nothing will come from this debacle other than negative PR for NK and crap out of Trumps mouth.

Yes, puppet show is a good a metaphor as any ... I'd probably call it more of a cartoon, you know, one of those surreal ones that only air at 3 AM that are so far distant from any semblance of reality that one would have to be seriously altered to appreciate it.

It's a great step in the right direction.
There is no doubt that if the "RESIST" crowd was in office this would never have happened.

To that crowd, go clean off your anti Trump bumper stickers and keep latching onto your negativity. It serves you well.

If i'm up at 3am chances are im in a seriously altered state anyways. LoL

The world is in a seriously altered state these days, the fact is the Thought Police are in full swing.

About as much chance of world peace coming from this mess as there is of an end to world hunger/poverty.

World peace is a nice thought but anyone who thinks it's about to become a reality has a serious lack of understanding of how this world works.

Think about the US's defence budget for a second and tell me how any president could justify it without some sort of perceived threat out there?

It's no coincidence that as soon as the communist threat ended we had Saddam Hussein to focus on, which was then quickly followed by Islamic terrorism.

As long as psychopaths are in control we'll always have wars in one form or another.

I don't think World Peace is in the cards. I wish it were. One little meeting is helpful but the world is a very dangerous place. I am much more concerned about China than I am about North Korea. Hell, I am even more concerned about Mexico, it has become one of the most dangerous places in the Americas.

Surely you jest, as there will be no world peace. I stand for it, as do most in the world. (Hopefully.) But the fact is, it is the wealthy who wage war for its spoils. Why would anyone expect them to give that up?

I think it was a fortunate turn of events - the collapse of the NK testing facilities for nuclear weapons. I'm fairly certain that put a massive dent in their plans for continuing their nuclear progression. Between limited funds due to increasing sanctions, I can only assume his minions convinced Kim that playing nice with SK was his best option.

While many will think the U.S. is gaining little out of this, and will really dislike the U.S. giving up their wargames with SK, I think it's a great move to start getting the U.S. out of the area. Not that they will - they have too much to gain to be strategically placed so close to China. But perhaps it will ease the tensions between NK and SK.

I'll give Trump some credit for helping this along, although I honestly don't think much of it was his doing. I think it was necessitated and then progressed by SK. Trump is mostly just along for the ride. I don't think for one moment that Trump's equally childish taunts towards Kim had ANYthing to do with their decision to denuclearize. I think that made the situation worse. Had the collapse not happened, I think we'd be in a worse place today.

You live in suspicion, paranoia and Fear.

I don't.

If living and loving, having Hope and Faith is tripe - than what shall we call your worldview?

I don’t buy any of it.

It seems all fake - like a show.

These are not the leaders.

You need to wake up!

It doesn't matter if they are puppets.

All that matters is that we are entering a more Peaceful tomorrow - today, right now.

It matters that we can shake hands and give hugs and share our world, and our love, with people everywhere.

It matters that our children don't have to go fight a mega-war today. That they can play and have fun.

It matters that you and I can have fun.

Don't be spoiled. Don't take today for granted. Look inside your Heart and look at the world you live in with new open eyes - we humans have lived a history of constant wars.

What are our kids doing now? School? Sports? Video games? Sleeping in late? Playing outside with their friends who come from every country and culture in the world??

That is what Im talking about. The Real world each of us lives in today.

It is irrelevant if these "leaders" are puppets. All that matters is if we can lead happy prosperous peaceful loving lives n0raKat.

That's all that really matters.
Love.

They decided it between themselves back in april.

A couple of things here. Both sides are giving Trump a lot of kudos in all this, so somehow they feel he is a big part in making it happen, or do you think any President would have been in the same situation due only to timing.

Secondly, WE are at war with NK too, so it is not a "they decided" thing. They can decide all they want but unless WE the US decide too the war is still on. They both need the US as the main part of all this and if NK doesn't do what Trump is asking for the war is back on full swing as it has been since 1953.

This document doesn't seem to move the ball at all. Kim Jung Un has not agreed to anything they haven't said in the past and yet he's gotten this big status boost.
What do we get? What do the people of North Korea get?

Welcome to 2018 where everything needs to happen at light speed or it is a failure. The Berlin Wall event took two years of negotiations and you are worried about some "status boost" after 3.5 hours...

As I have said before, so far the status quo for the last 60 plus years has done nothing and has led to NK having about 30 nukes. What does anyone get? We will see...maybe 20 million SK lives get to keep on living, maybe the DMZ goes away, maybe the people of NK see a new life ahead of them as sanctions disappear. May I ask you what should we do? Starve the NK people a little bit more, wait until Kim has 60 nukes, wait until they drop one on Soul's 20 million etc etc

Maybe the left will one day give Trump kudos on this too....naw that is about the only thing that will never happen here.

We've already played all the cards Nickn3.

There are pretty much only two cards left = World Peace and World War.

Use your energy wisely, put it into manifesting the card you want to see.
Don't allow yourself to fulfill the wrong prophecy.

So you're telling me that you "understand how the world works"?
The arrogance... the hubris...

It's like your mind fights against the very thought of a positive world-view.
You will rationalize any possible way to justify a negative outlook.
It contrives threats, evils, monsters everywhere to remind you that you must, at all costs, believe in a tomorrow that is a lost cause with no Hope.

Why would you do that to yourself?
Why do you choose to allow such thoughts into your mind?
Why focus on the worst case scenario?

Is the glass really almost completely empty?
Or is your mind corrupted by negativity?

Think about you and your life in this world, ignore all of the nightmares you have been conditioned to believe in for just one minute. Is it really that bad?

I thought about that before and during the writing of the OP. I gave it much deep thought.

I decided knowingly to just roll the dice.
If I'm wrong - no one will care about this thread - I can guarantee you that.

Kim is a good kid. I can feel people out intuitively, and those instincts are exceptionally accurate. I have never once had doubts about the integrity or been suspicious of Kim's intentions or outlook. He's a good kid and he's going to do the right thing. He just wants to be happy like anyone else. We need to show him support and friendship. He wants to be part of the world.

I guess by your definition, most of the world has been in a covert trade war with the US for many decades now. It's about time we joined the fray.

Well we have not been in a trade war because the whole world has put tariffs on the US in a protectionist move for their industries they feel are fragile and we have not done the same though we have the same reasons to do it too. As example Japan has a 778% (yes almost 800) on US rice. They want to protect the rice growers in Japan, and Canada's 270% on dairy products is the same reason. Trump comes a long and wants 10 to 25% tariffs on US products he feels are being threaten and BAM!!!! the world comes a part and screams TRADE WAR!!!
