Do you ever get the feeling like they--the powers that be--are constantly testing to see just how dumb we are.

"What else will they fall for?"

Maybe it's like Rat Race where all the rich people just start betting on any mundane thing they can think of.

Good post, but this struck me...

all it would take for a breach of users' intimate images would be one rogue misogynist employee

...posting revenge porn is not a male specific activity, women do it to men as well.

I've never sent any pics of my bits to anyone, either by standard MMS or online so it doesn't worry me, but I wouldn't really care if an ex posted a picture they have, it is what it is, just a body part, so meh.

BUT...

Read between the lines. Facebook only wants girl nudes.

If ATS were to eliminate every embarrassing post I've made, I think I'd be left with 3 posts in a thread about the best mustards to put on a cheese sandwich.

Scratch that.

In two of three of those posts, I somehow was able to reference my penis.

We should send food porn to FB. "Please make sure no one is revenging my recipes."

Why on earth is anyone ever using facebook anymore?

Why on earth did people ever use that anti-social spying stuff?
(Ok, i know, because everybody else does...)

What did people think after:

Pentagon Kills LifeLog Project

The Pentagon canceled its so-called LifeLog project, an ambitious effort to build a database tracking a person's entire existence.

And after:
Facebook is a social networking service launched on February 4, 2004

Dear god. How long have humans been on this planet again? And we STILL haven't gotten over the fact that sex happens. Meanwhile, every other animal om existence is humping like crazy and blissfully unaware that sex is wrong.

So, the perverts in the social media offices want free porn? Gee, maybe they can fool some people into sending them some photos.

I'm not allowed to pray for sex. I like butt sex. Butt sex is evil. I'll be turned into a pillar of salt or something.

i would never send my nudes to facebook so they can keep an eye out for my nudes, that's just dumb.

and yes, i knew when i took nudes and sent nudes that there was a possibility of them getting out there in some way that i didn't want.

that doesn't excuse assholes from deliberately spreading them in malicious ways and trying to attach my real name and info to them... which hasn't happened so far.

and yeah, it can happen to anyone but it does mostly happen to women and it is mostly malicious when it does happen. so trying to say it's not a gendered issue because it can happen is like saying breast cancer isn't a gendered issue because a small percentage of men get it... talk about grasping at straws.

p.s. no i will not send you nudes, thanks for asking though

Be honest. You fell for it and sent them your nude photos and now you realize how dumb an idea it is, so you're chiding the rest of us to feel better about it.

Wow you are a twisted perv aren't you? Normal people don't put "mustards" on a "cheese sandwich" ever, everybody knows that.

Makes me think "mustards" and "cheese sandwich" are really code words for filth you...sicko.

I was wondering why when I downloaded my personal data from Facebook there were none of the nudes women had sent me over the years. They’re probably in some master nude file at Facebook HQ.

Zuckerberg must be having fun.

See? My thoughts are that since I know it *could* happen, I wonder why anyone who really doesn't want it to happen to them would send their nudes out onto the web in the first place.

It doesn't really matter if those other people shouldn't be doing it. I agree; they shouldn't. What matters is that even *if* they get caught and punished, you still can't reverse what was done to you. So why court disaster in the first place?

That isn't "clutching pearls" as some have accused us of, it's simply being smart about this. If I want to give my SO a nude thrill, there are other ways to do so than to send off a quick selfie.
