I think if it wasn't a headline in a paper nobody would have even noticed.

Define care? You know what I meant.
Why don't you tell us what it is about a Sikh that would make anyone treat them different than any other cop? Not the turban surely?
I'm guessing you mean bigots and cop haters might use the attire as a reason to mess with her? You care about them and what they think? I don't.

It's about as intrusive to doing the job as a Jewish cop wearing a yarmulke is. Which is to say it really isn't intrusive. If cops can slap on their own uniform code-friendly style of cop hat, reasonable headgear meaningful to the wearer shouldn't be an issue, either.

I think you will find that most people that are ok with this have a huge problem with praying in school.

Two totally different things. I'm not going to have a problem with a yarmulke, turban, Hindu bindi, Christian cross necklace/tat. Those are simply religious aesthetics. I AM going to have a words to exchange over permitting religious practices that go beyond aesthetics in public schools -- that is what private religious ones exist to accommodate.

Well because this is America not India, and if I see a cop wearing a turban I am not going to respect him/her the way I should.
It is what it is..
