Here is the motive since MUeller has nothing -

When a president's personal lawyer is the target of a federal law-enforcement raid, it is a Big Deal. How big a deal remains to be seen, but the fact that the move came at the request of the Justice Department's Southern District of New York - after a referral from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office - could be an indication that Donald Trump's affairs are now relevant to a second criminal probe.

Mueller is going all over the map. Focus, man, focus.

The nature of a fishing expedition is that it is unfocused. It's legal grasping at straws.

Criminals deserve to pay for crimes.

Tell that to Alan Turing.

Indecent exposure under English law?

This whole thing stinks and I really don't trust a word being told.

Yeah.

Stormy must be a russian spy and rigged the electoral college.

So I'm supposed to believe the FBI is raiding a sitting presidents lawyer because of a pornstar hush money? I'm not that naive

This is a separate investigation from what Mueller is doing. The Judge in NW who signed the warrant was a recent appointee of Trump's, and the previous law partner of Rudy Giuliani. So much for a witch hunt.

I just heard the President of the United States say that they "broke into" his apartment. So it must be Illegal. Robbers and such.

The #in president said they broke into his apartment....

If a warrant is executed and is determined to be invalid with no valid fail safe exemptions / discoveries then they did in fact break into private property.

It is also why we have the legal term of "fruit of the poisonous tree".

and the entire raid stemmed directly from Mueller.

It was all legal. A group of Judges in NY had to review what evidence was presented to them, and then be reasonably confident that a crime had been committed, before they would sign something like this. This is not something Judges take lightly.

Client/Lawyer privilege does not apply when it is believed the attorney has committed a crime.

This is about Cohen. Not that it won't turn out, Xcathdra, that sometimes a witch is in fact a witch, and is uncovered by the hunt.
Let's see. Innocent until proven guilty, right?

You're correct... in fact, it appears that they had to do quite a bit of extra work to prove the need for the search warrant:

I"m not surprised by that.

Or maybe Mueller wants to be fired, so he isn't killed by his handlers

What was the crime?

Paying off a woman off isn't one.

Because if it was so many guys would be in jail.

Bill Clinton among them.

Judge Nap just said that the bank fraud has/might something to do with not telling the bank he got the money from, 130k, the real reason for it.

I didn't know that you had to tell the bank what you are using refinance for.

Shouldn't be any of their biz?

If I refinance and want to blow it on hookers and coke in Columbia, so what?

Uhm no. That is not how warrants work. The judge does not review evidence. They review the warrant application and ask questions if the want to but that is it. The judge relies on the fact law enforcement and prosecutors are officers of the court and because they are held to a higher standard it is assumed the are being honest.

As for Cohen its already been stated this could be a second investigation into Trump. That tells me Mueller / Rosenstein are concerned they might get shut down by a judge or Congress. By opening a second investigation outside the special counsel it would not be affected if Mueller and Rosenstein go bye bye.

Well no she is not quite correct.

As for the warrant yes, it is a higher bar to reach in order to get a judge to allow seizure of privileged communications between a lawyer and client.

Since judges dont review evidence and take the prosecutor / agents at their word in the application it does not mean the standard has been met. It means the prosecutor / agents presentation didnt set of any concerns. That does not mean they met the legal burden though.

Notice who has NOT been raided by the FBI yet?? Fusion GPS, Perkins Coie, Steele, Podesta Group, Clinton Foundation, Averatti, or anybody connected with the democratic side of the issues under investigation... Funny how that works, right?? Its nice we don't have a witch hunt/Coup/Election rigging happening before our eyes....

Exactly.

They've already harmed Trump's reputation and minimized his Presidency. They are limiting his impact by ensuring the finite time he has in the Oval is wasted on defending himself from media induced hype, paranoid, outrage and a bunch of whiny little brats.

Time to start governing, Mr. President. Fire Sessions, Fire Rosenstein and Fire Mueller. Mueller himself already said Trump is NOT a criminal target of the investigation, therefore there is nothing to obstruct. Furthermore, firing those guys does NOT end the investigation. It only replaces them with individuals that don't get their fake-news allegations from CNN/Rachel Maddow and act on those ideologically partisan beliefs by levying entirely unsupported allegations.

Why are Strozok/Page/Ohr/etc still employed at FBI? Their text messages contain enough misconduct to warrant immediate dismissal months ago. How much impact are these ideologically corrupt puppets still exerting against POTUS? Especially knowing they will likely be filing for unemployment once the OIG findings come to light.

Time to throw out the bathwater. In fact, time to throw out the baby with the bathwater if required. To continue this metaphor, time to take a sledge to the walls and renovate.
