* pokes head in door *

Pillows stuffed with bamboo fibre. So firm. So beautifully firm yet a bit of squidge to give it a memory foam feel.
They fluff nice and dont flatten after several uses like regular pillows.

Mine isnt a Bambillo Timely. I got this one half price at Harris Scarfe for $25.
My son hot his a few years ago from Spotlight for $20 and was great for a year or so then sort of fell to bits. I suppose its not so bad seeing pillows need to be changed every two years.

I chuckled as I was catching up in here. Leaving in a short while and have to get dressed now.

This is early for me even if it is a bit after 11 Am. Yawn. Sips coffee.

I too am that word I didn't know. A cat-lover. Maybe you'll like Kevin Richardson (The Lion Whisperer). A South-African guy that bought a bunch of land and cares for "big" cats the last 20 years or so. He has a personal relationship with each cat. You can see the mutual love between cat and man. The only thing he doesn't do is let them breed because they end up as game that some dumb tourist will spend big dollars to shoot. For the rest, he gives them the best care, protection and free-range he can. They only trust him. Fences are everywhere but some enclosures are 20 hectares big.

Most of his vids are about lions (he takes them for walks with no protection) but the above one is 2 leopards. He's amazing. Living a dream.

Remember when I said this a few weeks ago?

Local meteorologists say today & tomorrow should be the last of the summer high heat & humidity (90* again, but tolerably dry this time)

My reaction was this:

Suffice it to say, I won't believe it til I see it.

And Night said this?

I wouldn't believe it either. We haven't even gotten to August yet. There will be plenty of heat and humidity to come yet.

It wasn't pessimism on our part, we knew better!

Seems MI, and presumably the midwest in general, has another heatwave coming this weekend, 90*+ & humid from Saturday through at least Tuesday, with Monday and Tuesday in the mid 90's. I can only HOPE the temperatures forecast start to reduce downward, but....they've only been ticking upward each day. Sunday's initial forecast for next Saturday called for a pleasant 84, now it's up to 90*

Sorry for not being here to support those in need of late. I'm at the bottom of my own barrel just waiting, waiting, and waiting for things to improve. I dread the possible outcome of my Social Security hearing but I need to think as positively as I can about it to make it come out in my favour.

Sitting, waiting, wishing. I hope things improve soon.

ETA And for those of you who doubted me, I almost broke bones. My foot! (Colours don't do it justice. People tell me to go see a Doctor. I can't walk to my door, never mind a Doctor. I'll walk it off, in a week or two...)

I know those hearings can turn into multiple attempts & a lot of aggravation, but there's also hope that it can go smoothly. Here's to hoping for the smooth route!

Good LORD, that definitely looks excruciating. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you broke a few bones in it. You definitely need to have someone help you get to a doctor, even if it means crawling through the door on your hands and knees to see them.
We have a family friend who crushed their foot when boxes toppled in their garage, and refused to have it looked at. 10 painful years later, they needed surgery to fix the mal-knitted breaks, his foot was visibly contorted & lumpy for a long time because nothing was allowed to heal properly, and the pain had never gone away anyway. Surely you have a favor or two you could call in from someone for assistance!

No friends, no favours. It's all been forgotten. Besides, somebody would need to take a free day to take me anywhere. I ask that of no one. So I will suffer in silence. The supermarket delivered my beer (with a 3 dollar/euro service cost) and I have enough beer for at least 3 weeks and enough tobacco for this week. I'm just hoping I can soon get to a non-coffee coffee-shop soonish.

Life stinks! Me too, I don't dare attempt a shower because it require me to make a step up which my right foot cannot take. I will either collapse on the floor or collapse in the shower cubicle (cheap, plastic, temporary) and break the damn thing.

I'll wait. And stink.

I can understand that you can’t walk Light, but when and if it does get better, please take the time to get it checked out anyhow. Your medical is free, correct ?

Nope. If they need to make an X-ray it will cost me money I don't have. The only thing that is free is talking to the Doctor. X-rays cost at least 70 (if not more) euro/dollar/pounds. I"d rather spend that money on something else, when I can walk unaided.

Totally understand where you are coming from.. 70 bucks is a fair chunk of change when on a limited budget.

Here’s to hoping and praying it will heal properly. I know you aren’t much into prayers Light, but it’s all I’ve got to offer.

Thank you sweetie. I will do my best to hobble around without too much screaming. I have a dolly (the Dutch name) and it is a sturdy piece of metal and plastic with 4 wheels used to move heavy objects. (Washing machines, etc) I use it to move from my room to the toilet. It's strange looking, me sitting on my bum using my good leg as a propellant but I explain to people why I have to do it. My foot! (It makes my posterior hurt though. It's full of holes, not designed to sit on in comfort.

People seem slightly reassured after my explanation. I pee in a bucket but I do the other thing in a toilet using my dolly.
It's weird looking at the colour of several litres of your own pee. In fact, it looks kinda unhealthy. Then again, my eyes don't work all that well.

LOL! It doesn't look like the beer I drink. I need to empty the bucket again though. A clean slate, as it were.

ETA I won't post a photo of the bucket.

Wow, that is impressive. Could you perhaps post multiple angles and a day to day record of coloration? Please submit a scale from 1 to 10 of your pain level during multiple altercations. Turning in bed, hitting the floor, thinking.

Light seriously, pardon my sarcasm, but you need to do something, please, pretty please. The swelling needs to go down or you could risk infection and you would die and we would be complicit in your demise. Ups, sarcasm again.

Hon, I understand the reluctance to go to a doctor. I refuse and would rather die than pay the horrendous bills, but are you applying cold wraps, drinking enough water, keeping it elevated, massaging your leg and moving around so you don't get a blood clot?

I am with Sheye, all I have to offer are prayers. Perhaps that is what we do best here. We all gang together and send out what ever we have in a great big blast. A giant "ethereal" care package.
It has helped me many times.

Now I will imagine cooking you a lovely meal and making a wrap for that "thing".

I am not reluctant to go to a Doctor, I just can't walk. I'd really like to go to a hospital but the rules state that I must first go to a Doctor. So that's a no no. Even if my Doctor was in the same city (Rotterdam) I live in, I still wouldn't be able to walk there. So I'll suffer all alone. It will get better, or it won't. Then I will qualify for a free amputation. Possibly. I think it will get better with "time".

Oh good I envisioned some yogi contraption to elevate your awareness.

... seeing pillows need to be changed every two years.

I am so happy I did not have this knowledge. I had a favorite pillow that I have hauled around the globe for more than twenty five years. It ported and flew to twenty counties and two continents. I finally put it to rest a couple years ago. It was packed reverently every time I boarded a new ship or traveled else where. Some people have Teddy Bears I had a pillow.
May it rest in peace. I loved that pillow. "Nothing Compares to..."

I know sweetie you are "restricted". I just, well, am concerned.
You naughty boy, you sound like a "Monty" sketch even when you are in grave need. " Qualify for Amputation"

"Next, who's next? OH you've only been immobile two months. Go home for another month, NEXT, no one jumps the line"

"Your gangrene will kill you any way, NEXT"
