If true, then it would mean that his closet reporting was staged. If false, he lied. So he's lied either way.

OTOH, he loves the attention of anti-Hogg people, so it's possible that he intentionally lied to throw everyone into a tizzy.

Yup. Pretty much. And "justifies" is the perfect word for what she's trying to do. Even knowing the end result. It's rather chilling but not surprising. It would seem that she believes she can bully the nation just as she bullied a sick kid that desperately needed help...

These kids will one day grow up (probably the hard way) and will have to come to terms with what they did... and are doing. I'm more disgusted at the adults who failed all of these kids -- and, worse, the adults who are exploiting and manipulating them today. And essentially trying to manipulate and exploit all of us by hiding behind kids.

This Hogg kid is a terrible spokesperson for this "movement", he comes across as a holier than thou self-important little brat. Not very well-spoken either and I trust him as far as I could throw him.

I don't understand the fervor with these anti-gun movements, they're always reactionary as hell. Does anybody really think that criminals are going to give up their guns? There are millions of black market firearms in this country but you want to take them away from law-abiding citizens? It's straight up stupid and reckless. Many law-abiding citizens will never willingly give up their guns too so good luck with your little fantasy.

Um... honest people find ALL media lies insulting and disgusting... but calling this a lie or a hoax isn't really accurate. His word's weren't taken out of context... they were given without context. People only had those words to go on, and took them at face value. By all means, those words should be clarified once the miscommunication was known. But it doesn't make anyone liars or hoaxsters.

But I don't understand why this is such a big deal even if it were true. My opinion of him or his cause doesn't hinge on whether or not he was physically at the school at the time the shooting took place. Whether he was at home or at school in a different building or somewhere else entirely, if it's his school then it doesn't matter. Either way, he was not directly in the line of fire, and he has the same right to speak up. In fact, it might just up his creds a little if he had been safe and sound at home and put himself in harm's way to get to school for his cause. I would have far more respect for him in that case than the current "victim" status he's trying to claim -- and others are trying to bestow on him.

The true victims aren't talking... because they can't... and neither Hogg nor anyone else has the right to speak for them.

Its not interesting to anyone else that Hogg says "FBI" as hes walking through the crowd? It sounds like Hogg anyways. Why would he say FBI as if hes an FBI agent?

Been around longer than me and I am no spring chicken.

When I was young it was "Saturday Night Special", it was the most common one. It was nothing but a cheap throw away gun that people bought when they were up to no good, or they wanted to commit suicide.

All the laws in the world will not stop criminals from obtaining guns, or make them give up their guns. In fact, every time the media goes on one of these campaigns, it increases the number of gun purchases, because the good guys don't want to be left with no defenses. They know darn well the criminals will be armed, especially if they aren't.

The so called movement is nothing but an attempt to get children to manipulate their parents into doing what they say they want. It worked with everything else. Throw a tantrum in the store and come out with at least one new toy. Parents have given in to some of the most ridiculous and dangerous things their children have demanded, just to appease their spoiled, entitled children. So it is a good strategy to get the children to do their dirty dealings.

If you try hard enough, you can justify anything.

If she hadn't justified herself, someone else would have. You know that old chestnut "Boys will be boys"? I heard that, or versions of it, all throughout elementary school when I was bullied, and heard it bandied about when others were later in life.

So she's hardly unique in that, unfortunately. Hopefully, one day she'll have an epiphany and come to the realization that "Hey, I was part of the problem that lead to that."

That was one of his interviews from that evening.

It's interesting how these so called dumb teenagers have a lot of gun owners rattled. If they are nobodies, why even worry about them?

The problem is they now have a voice, because those who fear them are responding in a way which enhances their profile and backing. A never-ending circle. Attack is the wrong strategy against this new force and they are a force to be reckoned with. The more hate thrown at them, the more they come back and become stronger. It's certainly a new angle but their tactics seem wrong to discredit them. "They are kids" "They know nothing" "They will just fade away soon". I'm not seeing it all collapse, quite the opposite.

The laws and second amendment rights are yours to deal with as a country, not for outsiders. Only Americans can resolve the issues and there certainly are issues. This new force is a generation thing and will get bigger and stronger and the rights as you see them today will be changed. Stricter controls etc. The next few years will be interesting to play out. A new force that has a complete grip on Social media as a major tool to enable their cause. It going to require a new strategy in counter arguments to reckon with this generation of new voters soon. Power becomes a drug to those who have tasted it.

I liked the part of the article that says that his social media was scrubbed. How oddly convenient that a Deputy that was pointing to the DNC and Little Debbie over in Miami-Dade ends up dead.
