what happened to - freedom from religion

How about freedom from people...better? That is basically what you are saying...freedom from anyone who doesn't think like you..

freedom of religion definition. The right to choose a religion (or no religion) without interference by the government. Freedom of religion is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution.

choose or not choose that is your right...

Adding god to our national anthem, our currency, our courts(swearing on the bible), on our police vehicles, and in our schools is forcing subjection on those that don't believe in it. Your religion, or faith is just that...yours. Keep it out of government where it doesn't belong.

Thankfully my kids have reached an age we don't have to do Easter anymore. Still have to do Christmas for now.

Be patient, the world is falling apart quickly enough now.In just
a small time frame all will know what has been foretold will come
crashing down around us...The One World Religion,The New World
Order and The One World Government.Trust me,we are all in for a
very bumpy ride.
Odd that you think that, but I often see religious minded people say this very thing. The truth is that the world is becoming a much safer place, poverty is shrinking, and medical advances are extending peoples lives as well as improving the quality of them.

I’m guessing that people at your church tell you that the world is falling apart, so that you’re too afraid to think for yourself, and stop believing in sky fairies.

It's funny to see everyone against free speech wanting a state to change it's motto because it offends them.

Why haven't you all suggested jail time or punishment by death for saying things that offend you?

I just changed what they represent.

I went the Pagan route. Crops, weather, birth/death, etc.

I'm not from Florida, nor do I plan on ever moving there so their motto means nothing to me. If the people of Florida voted for it I say let it stand. If they did vote for it to be the motto, they should also vote to have it in schools. The state government shouldn't be making decisions based on personal beliefs, without letting the people vote on it. Same as our federal government shouldn't. Being as there's to be no laws made based on religion, I see any decision to force "in god we trust" onto the entire population to be illegal.

No one is suggesting that we remove free speech or kill people that disagree with others. For some reason you feel it necessary to imply that that is what is going on, but I think everyone can see that you’re just not very good at making points, or following the plot for that matter. You should probably just stick to dick and fart jokes.

The actual problem here is that when this type of speech is included in public schools, and especially written on the walls, it is indicative of a compulsion to believe In such things, or that such things even exist and be given some kind of validation. It is literally state compelled religion. I know some of you don’t mind because it just happens to be the religion that you identify with. The fact that you are willing to except it on this basis shows that you do not care about anything but yourselves.

That is probably just around the corner we have to be patient.
The NWO will get to that when they are ready to.

You are just as bad as that lady from that Jordan Peterson interview. I have plainly stated what I am talking about. I do not want God taught in public schools. When you find some empirical truth to state about a God, we’ll talk about it then. Until then you can teach your kids about god at your house or at your church. To teach kids about it in public schools is literally the state compelling religion upon them. Which is blatantly in contrast to the First Amendment. The kids themselves can do what they want. They can sit in a circle and pray all day. The school and the facultyAre not allowed to join them or to start the conversation. And certainly not allowed to write it on their walls.

Ahhh,poverty is shrinking,along with the middle-class! I don't
know what planet you are talking about,it can't be this one!
We have been seeing mass animal species dying off, radiation is
continually being pumped into the Pacific,on the brink of a major
nuclear war...
"All these medical advances are extending peoples lives as well as
improving the quality of them." Tell me,who will really benefit from
all of these medical advances? The elites on this planet will,WE are
just spare parts to them, useless eaters and wasting air and space.
As for church...
I broke away from the fundamental Baptist church I attended for
many years now.I don't do Christmas,Easter,Halloween...ALL pagan
traditions mixed with a little Christianity.I know someone further down
this thread went the pagan way.As for me and my house,we serve
the Lord!

Yeah I guess, everyone just make up your own religion. You can just have it be any ole thing you want. Just don’t write it on the public school walls and keep it out of our courts and out of our laws.

I thought you should know this...some schools have allowed one
religion to be encouraged in our public schools.Guess what? It
ain't Christianity! Everyone can file lawsuits against Christians, you
can't file any against this other, they file them against you!

I am in complete agreement with you. That’s just another reason why you should be on my side about this. School is not the place to teach about religions and the gods. Unless it is a comparative religion class. I feel that is the best way to show everybody that they are all equally reprehensible.

Before I begin I would like to point out a bit of history.
The USA has not always used the term In God We Trust. In fact that did not come around until after World War II, and then it was during the Cold War, that such a slogan appeared in all sorts of places, the idea being that the Soviet Union did not believe in God, due to it being a communist government and thus evil, and those countries that believed in God were on the side of justices and right.

When I first heard this, the lawsuit money hairs on the back of my neck just raised up and are tugging.
And the saddest thing of all is that the people of Florida are going to pay for a losing lawsuit, and the law will be struck. And here is how it is going to go down.

As this passed, the schools are going to be watched. While I am not sure which group will ask, but I suspect that it will be the Satanist, will ask that their slogan be put up, or it could be the Muslims, or even maybe the atheist will complain and demand that such be brought down. In any case, the School will say no, and then the lawyers will get involved. It will start off with a letter, then the law will be invoked, next thing you have is a case in a federal court. And it will go up to the US Supreme court that will probably side against the state, stating it violated the First amendment, as the saying is pushing a Judeo-Christian value, and thus alienating all others, and the only remedy would be either to strike down the law, or to allow any and all other religious beliefs to have theirs displayed. And as the lawmakers and schools are not interested in equality, it will be removed and the law struck down.
